Default compostables to fuel: "Biogas Handbook"

Imagine having a digester at your home that might be able to provide heat, cooking fuel and/or fuel for your car. All from your ... uh ... compostables.

Oh, sure, biodiesel is cool - but this would be even better since you don't have to go all over town looking for ingredients. Nor do you need some sort of laboratory with spooky chemicals to make it!

Imagine this thought: "We're going on a big trip soon - so we should have a big potluck so we will have plenty of fuel!"

So I'm visiting with the author of "Biogas Handbook" and .... next thing you know .... he's agreed to visit with folks for a week and I get to give away four copies of his book. Score! If this is of any interest to you, please visit http://www.permies.com/biogas

    Thanks!

paul: that's cool that u get to give away 4 books that help someone get started on biofuel. Theres noone I know on PEI so far that is doing that , but should since mostly farmers we have here and fishermen should be using it. Id say more the little farmers would probably try first. Ill let the word out about the link.
    thanks for the sharing.

Thanks Paul. This seems like a very logical extension of recycling to me. It reminds me of H-Power, the plant on Oahu that turns waste into energy. That plant was built in the 90s, and I would have expected to see a lot more plants like it by now.

There's a guy that did a lot with it a couple of decades ago, Jean Pain. But all of his stuff was written in french. And the english translation seemed really technical to me.

This book is way easier to read.
