Default Recycle this - Can you?

Ran across this article on AOL.

I'm surprised at some of the things you can't recycle.

HEY, this is a great article. Sadly, so much of what ppl think can be recycled, actually cannot.

That's why so much of the "green" movement involves baking from scratch (instead of having it delivered in a non-cyclable box), buying in bulk (instead of the chip/pretzles.... bags that cannot be recycled), and investing in things like stainless refillable water bottles as opposed to juice boxes, or water bottles that you forget to take the cap off of.

    Thanks Russ!

Its interesting to see what can and cant be recycled from neighbours close by and a far. Half of the stuff that my city says it will accept is not accepted in my sisters city. Odd.

Sometime last year this was sort of discussed on here and it was a vast difference of what was accepted where.

Our recycling is very limited and if you get a 'crabby' garbage person they can reject anything.........(IE: for THREE months they had been taking not only my magazines but my junk mail type mags. too..........then ONE WEEK........I had an LL Bean mag in the recycle and that guy tossed it back...........go figure! ---it was about the third one I had tossed!!)
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

That's was "Eye Opening". But so many of those things go in my bins every week, and ARE picked up. Just what on earth do they do with all of it then?

    I like your ideas Intlmom!

~Ah, good to see I remember and still practice the guidelines I learned during my childhood homeschool trip to the recycling center!
We have a great recycling center here. Our county recycled more per person last year than any other county in NJ. ~
