Vegan
The dr has me on a Vegan diet (no fat and no processed) for my stress.
I'm interested in recipes but I'm turned off by all the political/religious prop on many of the sites. Is there a good vegan site w/o all the politics?
Anyone here have any tips? Eggs seem to be the only thing I am missing - like to hold bean burgers together. Other dairy and meat I'm not missing at all.

I'm assuming that you have gone to veggieboards.com already and decided it was not your cup of tea. (although I'd it another try - it's great for recipies and support)
here are a couple of blogs, free of ads and politics....as far as I can tell:
FatFree Vegan Kitchen | Sinlessly Delicious Recipes (this one is a new one for me, but it looks oh so yummy!)
what the hell _does_ a vegan eat anyway?
eat, drink & be vegan
good luck.... and thanks for making me search - I really love the first and last ones, and they are new to me too!!

This is a great site and it's all low cal/low fat recipes. The one's that are vegan are marked. I've made tons of their recipes.

This is a good vegetarian/vegan forum, with a lot of help in making recipes work, plus lots of recipes posted, Vegetarian / Vegan - p1 - Community Forums - Recipezaar . I'm not vegetarian although I do a lot of meatless meals, and found a lot of good tips there.

McDougall Program & Dr. McDougall's Health and Medical Center
See if you can find his and his wife Mary's cookbooks in your library. They are fatfree vegan for health not political reasons which seems just what you are looking for.

Yeah! I have this book. It's a really good starter. Just a wee bit strict for me though, but a great health book.
Dr. McDougall was the first Vegan plan I ever did and I stuck with it. Although I don't agree with a few of his health points, I will always refer back to his diet. It's funny how some people think potatoes and starch are your enemies but I weighed 115 pounds eating a majority of my foods from veggies, rice, and potatoes...at 33 years old. And tons of energy.
Atkins diet also did a second round during the time McDougal was helping people. Gah, screw Atkins!
I would highly recommend checking his books out from the library.
