Default October 2010 will be first ever NON-GMO month

Not sure that this will accomplish big things, but every little bit of awareness helps move us in the right direction. I don't know about you, but I an really frustrated that we as a society are guinea pigs in this great big science experiment. Yes, I know that certified organic avoids GMO, but so much of the population is taking part of this experiment, totally unaware.... grrrrrrrrr.........

Hi! I'm new here, but wanted to comment on your post.

First, thanks for the link to the non-GMO project. This is a huge passion of mine -- educating people about what is happening with the (completely unannounced) infiltration of GMO to our grocery stores. It's just sickening how big money plays such a part in this, and the welfare of the citizens is not even a factor. Big science experiment, yes. Totally agree.

I encourage everyone to become a member of Green American, they send out emails that make it really simple to shoot an email off to your congressperson or Senator on issues such as GMO. I know sometimes it feels like we're spitting in the wind with issues like this, but I figure the only way to get some attention is to let the "suits" know that WE KNOW what's going on!!!

    OK, rant over! :-)

    Best,
    Lauren

You know I didn't even know what GMO was until I watched food inc. recently. It's what is encouraging me to grow my own.
"Many more people could ride out the storm-tossed waves in their economic lives if they had their . . . supply of food . . . and were debt-free. Today we find that many have followed this counsel in reverse: they have at least a year’s supply of debt and are food-free."-Thomas S. Monson
