    Question Floor tile Sealant...

    so I've just removed a couple of yrs worth of wax buildup on my kitchen tiles. they are ugly commerical type tiles- suppose to hide dirt, anyway now I need to seal them and after stripping (by using a scraper and elbow grease) I didn't have enough 'floor shine' so right now it's all clean but not sealed. I'm wondering if anyone here knows of something I can do myself to seal it, I dislike using chemicals if I can- I may have to buy something next time I'm in town. but if you have a 'recipe' I'd appreciate if you could post it.

    any advice is appreciated as this is the first time I've did this. and I thought that the mop n glo would do but now not sure....TIA B

    found this on the internet and am going to give it a try on a small test area.

    * 1/2 cup lemon juice
    * 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
    * 1/2 cup olive oil
    * 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol

    I just took up the mop n glo I'd put down this morning it dried splotchy so I used a store bought cleaner and the scrubber/polisher to remove it now waiting on the vinegar rinse to dry so i can make this and try.
    will post results soon.

    yes it is, and while the test area is a 2x2 it did put a shine on the tiles. I cut to size some sweatshirt material and put on the scrubber/polisher- I think if I had the real attachment for the machine it would have buffed up better. (so now I'm off searching for the attachment).

    the kitchen smells like an Olive Garden now. I have to make some floor polishing clothes before I tackle the whole kitchen.

    from the ingredients here's what I take away from the 'recipe'
    lemon juice- lightens, vinegar-disinfects, alcohol-drying agent, and olive oil- shines.
