January:
1. used car very little
2. ate vegetarian meals: purchased no meat or dairy but did use some dairy I had on hand
3. looked in my house for materials for projects rather than purchasing new items
3a. refinishing stairs - used products I already had
3b. sewing - making a cat bed from fabrics I already had; only had to buy foam
4. heat turned down
5. put plastic on some drafty windows
6. used the dryer less than I normally do in the winter
7. saving food scraps for the compost pile
8. remembered to take cloth shopping bags
9. unplugged tv and computer when not in use


plans for February:
continue above efforts
hang all loads of laundry
try growing some vegetables indoors
go to thrift store to look for some items I need to replace
