Yikes, I didn't do very well, I am afraid I am guilty of using lots of the bottom 10, I use plastic wrap, bleached coffee filters, paper towels, I buy payless shoes. I am blushing with shame now. I will try to be more earth friendly.

Blessings,
Kathy

Lets see: The first 10 I don't do 3, 4 and 5. I would do cloth diapers for our son with Down syndrome but can't get them big enough!!

The second group, I don't do any of those.

I'm going to have to work on the top group!!

well i did pretty well on the top list. No cloth diapers (no babies) but the second list i could do better. I use LOW octane, because it is cheap and the van runs fine with it. LOVE shoes, but i get them so cheap that i still have some i bought (top quality for almost nothing.) several years ago. And pastic is my life. LOL I am doing more waxed paper and less pastic though does that count, coffee filters i dont' use i don't drink coffee, stryofoam i think the cups we have lattes in are biodegradable so i am safe there too, Paper towels i ran out of months ago and just haven't restocked so i am doing cloth now. so over all not to bad on the bottom list, i have the faucet airraiters on both kitchen and bath sinks, use the low energy lights, BUT i drink bottled water, * i know i could get a purifer cheaper but it is my one thing. SO over all not too bad i get is what i am saying or i am trying to make me feel better. LOL no public trans here either but i could walk on day a week wouldn't kill me right. Well right, well okay it won't kill me maybe, LOL.

I do pretty well, We don't use anything on 2 nd list except for plastic bags (freezer). We don't have public Transportation, and no cloth diapers did when the kids were little but not now.

Melina, I use to use baby wash clothes instead of wipes.

10 things you SHOULD purchase to help our world:

1) Reusable Shopping Bags - I do this, I make shopping bags from old blue jeans

2) Faucet Aerator - nope, I do have low flow shower head though

3) Rechargeable Batteries - nope, I have hand powered flashlights and radio (with solar power too)

4) Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs - I have some of these and adding more as my budget allows.

5) Cloth Diapers - no babies, and I've had a hysterectomy so no need for cloth sanitary pads either.

6) Cloth Napkins - I made ours from freebie sheets I got at a yard sale.

7) Water Filter- nope, we just drink it straight from the tap. I don't buy bottled water either.

8) Clothes that Don't Need Dry Cleaning - I have one dress that requires dry cleaning. Everything else goes in the washer and hung on the line to dry.

9) In-season Local Produce - yep, mostly homegrown and canned too.

10) Public Transportation Ticket One Day a Week - wish we had public transporation. None available out here in the stix.

How many of these do you use??

10 things you SHOULD NOT purchase:

1) Styrofoam Cups - only occasionally

2)Paper Towels - nope, I use rags

3)Bleached Coffee Filters - nope, we don't even drink coffee

4)Over- Packaged Foods and other products - nope, mostly it's what we've grown or hunted.

5)Teak and Mahogany - only in my dreams!

6)Chemical Pest Killers - rarely

7)Chemical Glass Cleaners - nope , ammonia works just fine

8)Plastic bags and Wrap - nope

9)Higher Octane Gas than You Need- are you kidding, I buy the cheapest stuff available.

10)Poor Quality Shoes - I buy from Pay Less, but my shoes hold up longer than some of my co-workers who pay 3x the amount for their shoes.
