Question What are you recycling this week?

Or are you recycling at all?

Actually we are taking less and less to the recycling bin, because I'm getting much better at checking out things we purchase. We no longer purchase pop, so there isn't any pop bottles/cans going to the recycling bin.

I no longer am getting plastic bags because the kids are now remembering to take our cloth bags grocery shopping. I still have some to put in my garbage can, but even that is getting smaller and smaller each week.

All our scraps, etc are going into our compost. Right now its full, so were putting our scraps in a bag and bringing them to the compost pile that our local town has. They sell the compost to local farmers.

I've stopped purchasing canned soups and I'm now making all my own soup, so there are few cans in our recycling box.

Thats a few of the changes we've made. How about you, recycling this week?

DH and I do very well with recycling. We recycle our pop cans, newspapers, junk mail, plastic bottles, cardboard if the box is beyond use for storage purposes, as well as glass jars that we have such as pickle jars, mayo jars, etc. We usually have a full bin every two to three weeks.
Our city picks up our recycling once per week, so all we have to do is roll it out to the curb. No reason not to recycle with that kind of service yet I see many households who do not bother with recycling.
