    Question Would you do this?

In a small town close to us, they are making plans to demolish an old grain elevator. Understand most of the old elevators are being demolished on the prairies and tall, cement ones are being built, that are ugly, look awful standing out on a wide open field and don't do anything for the environment I'm sure.

Back to the demolition that is planned, there are a few people who plan on chaining themselves to the building so that it can't be torn down. Something quite like others have done to save the rain forest from BIG business and tree logging.

If you were in a similar situation in your town, city or even lived near the rain forest, we you go so far as to chain yourself to a tree, building or whatnot. Do you think its going too far and if so why? And if you think its going too far, how would you try to stop it? Would you risk going to jail for what you believe in?

I think it's noble, but would I do it? Doubt it. I'm a wimp.

    How about you, CJ?

If I thought it would really accomplish my goal I probably would.

Michelle, if I didn't have kids at home, I'd do it in a heartbeat if I really believed in the cause. With kids at home, I'd have to think about spending time in jail and who would watch my kids while I sat in jail, kwim.

I've seen grandmothers go to jail for fighting to save the rain forests in BC. They were fighting for what they believed in. Did it help - YES, at least they got some compromises.

And the rainforest would definitely be something I'd do it for, if my kids were no longer at home.
