    Question do you recycle cans?

and if so, do you do it for the money? or just for mother earth?

i just started recycling cans. i know i'm a bad girl, i should have started a lot sooner. i would like to turn them in for a little extra cash, but not sure where to start. i did this as a kid and it was great. sooo, if you do this for cash, how well are you doing? is it worth it to you?

We've always saved aluminum cans. I started when cash was rare, and it bought much needed food items. When times became a bit better we continued it and use the $$ to buy savings bonds for the kids.

Misty, we do it for Mother Earth. We don't get cash for cans, nor do we get cash for pop cans. They do in Sask. (the province right next to us), but were not allowed to take pop cans there.

    We've recycled now for years.

We recycle our cans, but give them to our church Sunday School. The kids collect the cans and cash them in as a contribution to their regular offering. I probably have about 6 trash bags of crushed cans in one of my sheds right now! DH is positively addicted to Diet Pepsi!

We save pop cans and I do it for both reasons. I love the idea of helping mother earth but I don't mind the cash either.

We rarely have cans. Mel will not eat canned veggies, only frozen. We rarely buy sodas in cans, just bottles. I should save the few we do have but I don't. In a whole years time, I might have one garbage bag full. I need to fix a place in the garage to save them - for mother earth I know.

Yes we do. We can't turn them in for cash here though.

I recycle all cans, paper, plastic, etc...

The soda cans, we get 5 cents a can, so I save them, even more so.

I recycle as much as I can, paper, plastic, cardboard, etc. We pay a 5cent "deposit" on each soda can/bottle that we buy, then we get to return the empties and get the 5cents back. I figure since I paid this money, I should get it back by recycling.

I just started recylcing cans about 2 months ago. I did it for both reasons. I haven't cashed any in yet because I am waiting to get enough bags together before I do.

Our cans go into our regular recycling bin that the garbage company picks up each week.

I recycle for mother earth, but sometimes turn them in for cash...I never thought about the savings bond idea...I think I will do that..

We have a truck that picks up the recycling once a week and i usually just toss them in there....I always have a huge box....I try and recycle everything that will go. Plastic, paper, glass, cans, etc.

we recycle soda cans. We do turn them in for $$ but do it mostly for Mother Earth. I couldn't stand to just throw away a can....So I'd still save them if I didn't get $$ for them.

I have also gave them to the church when we were saving for certain things....new books, kids playground..etc...
