Anybody know where I can get...
organic powdered cheese stuff that looks like the stuff in boxes of mac-n-cheese? That's my dc's favorite mac-n-cheese (they don't appreciate the good, creamy kind), but I refuse to buy the non-organic junk. If I could find the powder, I'd use it with my own organic macaroni, milk & butter.
TIA.

Here are the Annie's products (can buy the boxed organic mac and cheese or just the cheese pouches or the Simply Organic mac and cheese).

I found this: http://www.shopnatural.com/html/10129.htm
Those Annie's ones are so much more costly.
Sometimes I think I should just give up spending all this money on organic foods. Then I shudder & feel disgusted and decide it's all worthwhile.

Are you near an Amish area at all?
I am in NE Indiana, and there are a lot of Amish here. I regularly shop at an Amish bulk foods store, and they carry the organic cheese powder. I'm sure you could order it from somewhere, but don't know what you'd have to pay. I know this store I shop at does mail orders. If you want more information, or want me to check prices next time I go (probably this week or next), let me know.

Hey, BA, I'd be interested in getting the mail-order info for the store. I've been wishing I had that kind of store near me since you mentioned other stuff you got there. Is there a way to get a price list? Thank you!!! :

Here's an address and phone number
I got this from Super Pages online. You could call or write for information. Next time I go, I'll ask as well. I know they do mail order, but I don't know how they go about it.

Let me know what you think of them if you do contact them. I don't have a single bad thing to say about them! They've been a godsend to me! They recently built a brand new, larger building, and a friend just told me that the old building is now a produce clearing house or something. Discount produce right next to discount bulk goods! Man I love Shipshewana!

Valerie, not sure if you noticed it or not but the product in the link you gave does not say it's organic. Just wanted to mention that since you said you were looking for an organic product - wouldn't want you to order it and it not be what you were looking for.
Thanks for that info, mrschris!

thanks, Kim. I must have mixed it up. When I search from google, I get this: http://www.shopnatural.com/html/17052.htm, which DOES say organic.
I always thought (I'm not 100% sure) that all Frontier brand items with a green label are organic - or maybe it's the red. *sigh* I'm not sure.
Anyhow, I'm going to buy a box of mac-n-cheese from the store & figure out how much powder is used, so that I can figure out the true cost of this powder - though I think that it's reasonable - i.e. how many 'boxes' of mac-n-cheese is it equivelent to.
