Calculator: How much CO2 do you emit?
CALCULATE YOUR IMPACT
My total impact was 2900 which is "much smaller than average". What about you?We all contribute to global warming every day. The carbon dioxide you produce by driving your car and leaving the lights on adds up quickly. You may be surprised by how much Co2 you are emitting each year. Calculate your personal impact and learn how you can take action to reduce or even eliminate your emissions of carbon dioxide.

Ouch!! 12,500 (only a hair below average).
I listed my annual mileage at 10,500. Reducing it to 8,000 miles, lowered my score to 9700.
Changing the vehicle from my current 2003 Kia Sedona (minivan) back to my old 1989 Honda Civic, and leaving the mileage at 10,500, dropped my score to 6300.
So I see where the problem is!
Note to self: increase efforts to drive less.

doesn't work for Canada-- but the last time I did this I was lower than average by a fair bit.
Not having a second car, putting all the lightbulbs to curly flourescents and hanging laundry once in a while tend to reduce it a ton.
Speaking of which I think the best thing people can do is to reduce the gasoline they use. If you are in a hydroelectric area, rather than a coal or deisel fueled electricity area, then the lightbulbs save energy but not CO2.

Our electric company offers wind powered energy but its about $7/month extra (or $84/year) which I cannot bring myself to spend - especially now that our income is greatly reduced.
