I have lots of those promo canvas and euro bags and love them, but since I usually do big shopping their not very helpful. I use them for individual projects and things. I reuse most of my grocery bags for trash or take them to work to send soiled clothes home with my clients.
I have several of these. Some plain and some from book and airline promotions. I just haven't thought about using them at the grocery store. LOL And I lived in Germany where that was all those women used. I should be ashamed of myself!
I will start keeping some in my car. Do you just hand them to the bag person and let them fill them up? Come to think of it, I've never seen anyone in my town use these? I will be a novelty. lol
I reuse the plastic bags for trash and I also use them one time for packing our lunches. Since we work the same place I can just go to the fridge and pull out containers of stuff and throw them in the bags and then heat up or make lunch at work. It really is a money saver.

I do use cloth bags, but they get used for library books instead of groceries (we do our shopping and library run on the same day)! I do reuse all the plastic and paper bags we get our groceries in though.

I have several as well and use them for various things, some for crocheting, some for quilting, library, and when I go to the Health food store or the Fresh Market
I've made myself 10 calico bags for supermarket shopping so I don't have to bring back the plastic ones. DS still brings back plastic shopping bag though so I use those for collecting dog poop and other homesteader tasks.
I purchased a number of cloth bags from the MCC village a number of years ago and use them for both groceries and picking up my mail when I walk to the post office. We've used them for library books too.
Edited to add: Superstore, the large grocery store here in Manitoba charges 4¢ per plastic bag that you use for groceries. It adds up quickly, so we always try to remember to bring our cloth bags.
I have several, and I thought i would use them all the time. i made some, and i bought some. And I started out really gung-ho with the bags. But it seemed it just keeps getting harder to remember to take them. I need to get back into the swing of using them again.

I use my canvas bag for when I shop at the health food store. But my regular grocery store has these 100% recycled plastic bags they use for their goods. They are thick and very durable! I use these for cleaning the kitty litter. I specifically use this grocery store for when I need kitty litter bags. I just ran out of them last night.
i know this is a really old topic, but besides the canvas bags i bought at the commissary, i use www.ecobags.com .i have some of the produce bags that i love, and i'm waiting on some more canvas bags for groceries and stuff

I use an expanding string bag (Euro bag?? not sure) for my groceries. But I do allow my groceries to be packed in plastic bags because I need them for my trash. My string bag is always in my purse and I use it for everything.
I bought 2 last summer because they were only $1 a piece. I gave one to my friend.

I saw this web site yesterday- when quiltermom brought it up.. I loved the nylon bags that fold up so small they fit into a little bag and into your purse. I thought I'd like to make some for gifts. I went to the fabric store (which is a dangerous thing- considering that I'm a financial diet here!) and didn't buy- just looked at nylon- prices.
I'll wait.
