What Does Happen with our Recycling? Link

I was just catching up on some on-line reading this evening and came across this really good article and video of a woman following her recycling from curb to recycling center to landfill. It was interesting to watch because it isn't something that I think about very often. And, wow I am envious of those large recycling containers Los Angeles has, we fill up our measly little bin halfway through the week.

yes we have very small ones here too. We could not fit half of it in ours so I take it to our local recycling drop off. It is close and we do not have to pay extra . I live close to a garbage dump and it is now the highest point in the whole county when my dh was a boy it was a deep hole . I know to well where when some one says throw it out that it just doesn't disappear it goes somewhere!!!! So we recycle a lot and we get better and better I try hard to think when we are making choices. I use cloth bags to shop and even though my dh get a little funny I will tell them to keep the bag on the few times we do eat fast food. I can't say we do everything right but we are getting better. So the next time you throw things out think of where it might be going (my back yard)Sorry I just feel passionate about this one.
