    Question Do you buy pumpkins?

and do you carve them? Roast the seeds? Puree the pumpkin for baking? Or just let it sit and rot til winter? LOL

Gabe wants the seeds, so I need to see if there are any fun pumpkin seed recipes other than salted and roasted. He asked me if I was going to bake anything pumpkin. I replied a can of Libbys was looking good to me. LOL

Not sure what type of carving we will do. Our local dollar store had pumpkin carving kits, so I may go that route.

yes i do buy and carve and roast pumkins, (not the whole thing you understand but the seeds. ) there is a really kewl soap that you can crush the seeds and add to for an expoliator (sp?). which i am going to try. Don't mush them or anything i find that can of libby is so much easier to do.

I buy pumpkins everyyear, both for carving and for baking. After Halloween I look for reduced pumpkins and freeze the puree.

We buy pumpkins at a pumpkin patch. The kids walk through and pick out the ones they want. We carve them, but not until the day before Halloween. We used to roast the seeds, but have given up that practice. As for pumpkin pie...I buy the canned and make them...lol!

We went to the pumpkin farm this past weekend- even though the kids are older- they wouldn't miss it. They can carve their own now- which is much easier!! I then take the seeds and wash them real well, sprinkle with sea salt and bake for about 15 minutes. I've never tried cooking a pumpkin, is it easy?

We went to Green Meadows Farm on vacation the other day and each of use got to pick a pumpkin from the pumpking patch (as part of our paid admission). We will carve them later this month. As for baking - I used canned pumpkin.

We buy at least two or three pumpkins every year. My DH does the most wonderful pumpkin carvings. He gets the book of patterns, and just goes to work. We don't carve them until the day before Halloween. Halloween is a big deal for DH, he just LOVES IT. We decorate the house and yard big time. We all dress up on Halloween night.

I don't usually buy them. This year dsil GAVE us about 6, all different sized and shaped ones that came from the pumpkin patch that her dh works at! I've NEVER had soooooo many pumpkins! I dunno what I'll do with em. I really want em to stretch to Halloween, so I may have to cart in em in at nite after this week.

We usually carve 2 or 3 pumpkins. This year, I decided not to carve and bought (what I thought) a very pretty FairyTale pumpkin. My husband *hates* it! So I'm thinkin I will buy a few more...

Haven't found a pumpkin farm/patch in Houston yet I miss tthem. To me there is something not quite right about buying your pumpkin at the grocery store!!
