Smile Halloween - it's just around the corner!

so, as many of us are focusing some energies on xmas/year end holiday celebrations...
let's not forget what's _creeping_ up on us... Halloween!

Do you and your family know what you're doing?
What about what costumes you're wearing?
    Are you handing out candy?
    What kind of candy?

I'll be honest... we haven't figured out a thing yet! lol

I'm waiting for candy to go on sale and pick up the bags of "fun size" candies.

No homemade goodies here... ppl throw them away more for safety issues than any other reason.

I don't have any kiddos yet, but I am thinking we might go to a Halloween party. We'll dress up for the party and hand out candy before we leave (if anyone comes to the door, we live in an apt and only average one kid every Halloween). I don't know what we will dress up as yet. As for things to hand out, I will probably hand out halloween pencils and erasers . I save wrapped Happy Meal toys (when I order them a few times a year), then if we get little kids at the door I can hand out those.

We're going to be Goldie Locks and the three bears. I need to buy some furry fabric at JoAnn's (coupon of course) to make the heads (think faceless ski mask) and we'll wear mama, papa and baby clothes. dd has goldie-like clothes. We'll be getting candy, not giving.

DS is going to be a dog. I found a brand new costume at Goodwill for 4.99. I thought that was a great buy.

DD#3 - who know what she is going to come up with.

DD#2 is going to be a witch.

DD#1 hasn't mentioned anything about it.

I usually buy candy only 1-2 days before Halloween because I don't want to keep it in my house. I usually buy whatever is on sale.

    I love Halloween.
DS wants to be either Batman or Superman.
    DD wants to be Cinderella.
My hubby and I don't dress up. Hubby takes the kids out trick or treating and I stay home and hand out candy. I just buy a big bag at BJs a few days before.

Now....I need to find the time to head to JoAnns and get some patterns as well as some fabric. DH and I love making the costumes.

    Hiya everyone,

I love Halloween! It my favorite holiday, being that x-mas is my b-day..lol... Well, I decorate the house inside and outside. This yr my son want to be a zombie ghost. I maybe a whoopie cushion or a vampire. DH never get dress up, and no kids come to our house cuz we live on a highway so it to much traffic, so we take our son down town to trick and treat. We also go to as many haunt houses and woods.

DD will be with my ex on Halloween Never had one without her.

We are going to make little ghosts out of white trash bags and newspaper... and of course, decorate a pumpkin.

I will be alone since the Old Man has to work... so I will most likely just put my jammies on and give myself a green facial (2 birds... clean pores and an instant costume ). We only have a handful of kiddos here, so I will watch some scary movie and pass out the goodies.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

We are going to a Halloween party on the 18th.
dd2 can't decide what she wants to be
dd3 can't either, but she has narrowed it down to either a mummy or a dead cheerleader.

Last year I went as a wench and Dh went as Darth Maul. (I did his make up)
Not sure what I am going as this year.

But as to decorating my house, well, I have one of those life sized dolls that I am going to use!
She is going to be standing in a circle with several mannequin heads laying around her. She will be holding a knife (fake) and will be all bloody.
We will also have spiderwebs in the tree. I will have orange rope lights hanging up and then I will also have black lights on my porch and then will be using flouresent paint to decorate some things so that the black light will make them glow.
Going to get to work on that this week! Can't wait!!!!!!

Well this year we are having a Halloween themed birthday party for DD she will be 3. Our best friends daughter is 2 weeks younger so it will be a combined party.

On halloween we will be going to about 4 family members houses and then to a FOF house to sum up the evening. No passing out candy for us.

i decorate 1 week before. but don't bother to dress up. i usually give the treats out and hubby would take the kids to treat. now that the youngest is too old(12) to go out we'll be staying at home.
more fun watching the kids come to the door and see the little ones what they're wearing lol

DS is really into Spiderman, so I think I will make him a Spiderman costume. Nothing special, I'll just use a black marker to make the lines on a red shirt, and then we'll get some blue shorts and red tights. He's not into masks, so I will do make up on his face instead. Then we'll go trick-or-treating in the in-laws' neighborhood.

I don't think I am gonna dress my DD up this year. She's only 15 months old, it's not like she is gonna miss anything. We didn't take her anywhere last year either. Now next yr will be a different story. We are just gonna hand out candy and that's it.
