Trick or Treating question....
I live in NE Wisconsin and I don't know if this is a regional thing or not but I was a little suprised by it....the adults that were trick or treating. I had at least 10 or 12 moms come by with their kids each carrying their own bags and putting them out there for candy. I have never seen this before! One or two you can write off as getting candy for a sick child but I was very shocked that these adults would actually stand in front of me and say "Trick or Treat". To me this a childrens' holilday and I see it as tacky for adults to hold out a bag for a treat. Did anyone else have this tonight? I have lived in the west and in New England and have never run across this before.

Yeesh guys, where's your sense of fun? I don't see anything wrong with it at all as long as they're dressed up. It's just getting into the spirit of things. It's not just a kid's holiday. Loosen up!

Just for the record, these parents were not in costume. In our neighborhood, we get a lot of trick or treaters and it costs alot to give out treats for 2 hours. I do this for the kids and I think it is really tacky that adults would try to get something for nothing. Go buy a bag of candy!

i think it's rude to do that .. we just stand at the sidewalk and watch the kids go up to the house .... some years we dress up, some years we dont ...

The only adults that we had that were holding bags out for candy were the ones doing it for the kids in strollers. I even got a sucker last night for getting all dressed up and I didn't ask.
DH and I stood at the end of the sidewalk while the kids walked up to the doors, and one of the ladies who gave them candy came out to the end and gave both DH and I a sucker.
I don't necessarily think it's tacky. I just think they'd be better off just going to the store and buying their own candy.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

I think it's weird but so long as they are in costume, they get candy when they knock on my door for Halloween.
It bothers me more to see kids trick or treating and not even making an effort to dress up. Just a hoodie, jeans, and a pillowcase. That's not trick or treating...that's panhandling! lol

I do think it's a little odd,but if they were in costume I'd give them candy...maybe they were really young parents...I mean I've had 18year olds at the door..This year we had mostly really young kids only 1 or 2 teenagers.
