Halloween Costume Question
I'm not sure if this is the place to ask but here goes.
My boyfriend and I are going to a party for halloween and it was kind of sprung on us last minute so here I am scrambling for a costume idea. My boyfriend suggested just buying costumes but I'd rather make one if possible. I wouldn't mind buying face paint and/or accessories. I just don't want to spend a whole bunch just for a party. Here are some things in my wardrobe that I thought I might be able to use.
pink fuzzy bathrobe with white stars
purple PJ pants with white and pink flowers
purple tinkerbell Tshirt
two long black skirts, one with purple flowers and one with small white flowers
3 tank tops, red, black and white
white PJ pants with purple and pink butterflys
3 long sleeve tshirts, black, brown and white
2 turtle necks, white and pink
ANY SUGGESTIONS??
Thanks in advance.

You can google homemade halloween costumes.
Familyfun.go.com have lots of suggestions.
So does marthastewart.com. All though they are a bit fancy.
You can look at the pics and make your own variations. That is what we usually do, work with what we have.

You could wear one of the black skirts and one of the white longsleve t-shirts and tell everyone you are an unfinished canvas. Your boyfriend could be the artist.

I suggested to my colleagues at work to use a little purple eyeshadow under the eyes and come in in normal clothes - zombies or ghosts

Tonight I've just transformed an old black top by stitching cobwebs on in silver embroidery thread
It looks stunning.
Good luck!

What about going as a housewife? Wear the robe with jammies underneath, put your hair up in a towel (or curlers), and do a bad makeup job. Depending on the party, cut and peel a carrot and use it as a cigarette. Or, you could put face cream on but that might come off.

A couple I know each put on a large black garbage bag. Using masking tape they spelled out "I'm Hefty" on one and "I'm Glad" on the other. You could have your boyfriend wear the Hefty one. In my friend's case the woman wore the Hefty one because she was pregnant!! So cute.
If you have a clear garbage bag you could put it on (legs through bottom, top tied or taped around neck). Put different colored blown up small balloons inside the Big garbage bag and you are A Bag of Jelly Beans!!!Truck paid off 12/07(paid in full)

Bathrobe, pjs, curlers, as suggested above
or put your hair in pigtails, wear the tinkerbell shirt and do a cute teenager sleepover thing
Use the black skirts and some gaudy jewelry for a gypsy/fortuneteller costume
tank top, jeans, metal jewelry, bandanna, rub-on tattoo for a biker chick
tank top, sweat pants, head band -- bodybuilderUse it up, Wear it out,

My daughter had a halloween party last weekend and her husband and some of his friends dressed as women and the women dressed as men (pimps). It was a cheap idea and I think she only paid $2 for stockings for him.

Thanks for all the replies so far. Great ideas. I think if it really gets down to the last second I'll just do the whole PJs, tinkerbell shirt, robe and put my hair in lopsided pig tails(my hair is kinda short but it'll be funny in pigtails) and use some makeup to look dead so i'll be the "dead slumber party girl" lol.
