DD9 got 207 packs of candy, 40-some-odd bags of chips, a coloring book, candy apples (from our next door neighbor), ramen noodles, and some crayons

One year we were the only family with kids in a neighborhood of older people. We came home with some canned pasta, $7 in change, a box of Oreos and a whole pie a neighbor had baked that afternoon. They weren't expecting trick-or-treaters in that neighborhood but it was a great Halloween DD14 and I will never forget (DD9 was just 3 so doesn't remember it)

Mostly tootsie rolls and suckers. A very few fun size candy bars and some weird gummies. Frankly it seemed like many fewer houses had their lights on and the candy was the less expensive stuff. That's fine by me but I wonder if it's some indicator of how strapped people are.

Both my girls got a ton of candy/goodies. The table was FILLED with chips, chocolates, hard candies, gummie candies...you name it. DH and I separated the loot into bags by category. We don't need to buy candy (not that we really do too often) for a long time!!!

Our household was pinched --job cuts and such-so we opted for not participating for Halloween. The neighbor told us that she only had three come to her door anyway. I heard lots of folks did'nt this year.

Some really different things were listed! Wow, it really surprised me. We didn't get one child this year!
