LFL & The Wii
i wasnt sure if i should post this under Hobbies or LFL...
So i decided here...because my question is...
how many of you have a Wii AND use it for some of the fitness and/or sports games you can interactively play?
I ask because I was reading an article and talking to a friend about how so many more people are using it as a "fitness" arena... especially the older crowd... never really into video games before, but can enjoy old hobbies w/out the side effects of... say a heavy ball for bowling, the impact of a baseball on a bat or other things.
There are also Yoga, Pilates and other exercise "games" specifically made for this reason.
however, there's also DDR (dance dance revolution) that many tout to be a great aerobic workout.

Hiya,
I have a Wii, I also have the Wii fit game(love it).... I got the wii fit for the that fact that it is interactive, cuz beside what normal do during the day I can't run out to the gym or follow a yoga video..lol... Now I just turn on the wii and click on the yoga position I want to do. I know it just a game but I look at it as it helping me get more act, I get so happy when I do the action right and get new game open. I now have all my balance game open!!!
It funny cuz the night I went out to buy it a women who look in her late 30 was buying it for the fact that it had yoga positions built in. She told that she was going give away all her videos.

Hi,
I don't use the wii as exercise as such (I don't have wii fit yet) but I do think it's good to include anything that gets me up and moving about. So I really enjoy wii sports and Rayman's Ravin' Rabbids. If it's fun and gets to blood flowing then it's all good in my book!

I have wii fit and although it's fun I don't think it gives me much of a workout. I use it mainly for fun and sometimes will do the free run if it's bad weather outside.

I sold some things to get a wii and got the wii fit for an early birthday present and I love it, I really like the boxing one, I find the jogging on the spot one sore on my joints though so I sometimes cheat and do it on my mini trampoline lol

Goodness, it's definitely a workout for me (granted, I'm pretty out of shape). My quads are KILLING me today from playing ski jump so much. The other day my calves hurt from something, though I'm not sure what.
For the time being, it's giving me some fitness benefit and has gotten me up and moving, so I'll stick to it.
It really is a lot of fun, and competing with my family makes it even more fun

I really want one but they are all sold out here. I wish I could try it out before I bought it though.
