Default Eureka! I think I've found it...

    Or might have it.

    Oral Allergy Syndrome

I didn't know before the environmental allergies I had ("trees" - he didn't say which ones, and ragweed) and they go almost hand in hand with the foods I can't tolerate (except avocados...). It also explains why applesauce doesn't bother me, but raw apples do. Banana bread doesn't bother me, but a raw banana about kills me. I don't have the mouth tingling, swelling, rash symptoms, but I do have the anaphalactic symptoms. I underlined the foods that give me issues and bolded the allergies I have.

    • Ragweed (weed): melons (watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew), bananas, cucumbers and zucchini.
    • Birch (tree): potatoes, carrots, cherries, celery, apples, pears, plums, peaches, parsnip, kiwi, hazelnuts and apricots.

It also kind of explains why I could eat them over the winter, and as soon as it got warmer I couldn't.

I wonder if the dr will listen to me....

I think it is definitely worth having the doctor look more deeply into. Hope they are able to help you with this!

Have you talked to the doctor yet?

It's been my experience that if you bring up anything obscure or unconventional in the way of self-diagnosis, your doctor is going to look at you like you have a third eye. I hope that's not the case for you though, hopefully s/he will get it figured out.

That is so interesting! I'll have to pay attention, too. Sometimes when I eat some friuts, of course I can't think if which ones my lip will swell in some spots. I have terrible pollen allergies!

I hope your Doctor listens to you. If not, is there another doctor that you can go to?
