Default Looking For High Blood Pressure Recipes

    Hi friends,
sorry to came up with this post, but it seems most of the recipe articles are for low fat, & unfortunately I am looking for some High blood pressure friendly recipes. I did few searches over Google & yahoo, but no success. so can you give me some recipe or any book from which I can control my blood pressure.

    Hi Michael,
I just entered the words "whole food recipes" in my google search engine and came up with 2,750,000 links to choose from.

If you are looking for recipes to help control your blood pressure you would surely want to avoid all processed foods in your recipes. As for flavour, dried and fresh herbs, Mrs. dash and a wonderful unrefined salt that has 72 trace minerals, called REAL SALT, would be excellent seasonings to cook with. You would want to avoid any salt that is refined. Real salt will not hurt your blood pressure but will in fact help it because of the trace minerals. You will also want to avoid anything that is refined and destroys the arterial health......refined flour and sugar and salt. Also avoid water that contains fluoride and chlorine because these two toxins will raise your blood pressure while they destroy your arteries! Cook with and drink pure water. keep your recipes simple and try to eat some creative raw salads with your cooked meals. Raw is very healing! Also think about taking a non synthetic magnesium supplement to relax and repair your arteries. Most of the population is deficient in magnesium and they can develop HBP as a result. I like the Ionic Fizz calcium Plus that i order from www.vitacost.com Also it is important to be getting enough of your omega 3's in your diet. If you like fish, which is loaded with omega 3, make sure you look for fish that is not farm fed as this is highly toxic as well. Ground flaxseed, chia seeds, wild fish.....these are all great sources of omega 3's. Shop for fresh produce at your local farmers market and if possible do look for organic! Organic contains more nutrients than non organic. Keep it simple and have fun! Just remember to look out for the refined sugar, flour and salt!

Countrybumpkin - you have given some great advice!

Michael123 - the advice you have bee given is great. Personally, I would try whole foods with good magnesium levels - pumpkin seeds, beets, greens, etc.

Have you looked at the DASH diet at all - it has helped a number of people and there are some okay recipes on line

I would definitely limit refined grains and sugar. Most people would also do better by cutting gluten out of their diet (wheat, rye, barley). My hubby now has "normal blood pressure" after we went GF and concnentrated more on whole foods.

My father drinks this natural blood pressure reducer and it works:

    Gallon jar
    1 egg plant

cut the egg plant up into chunks
    place in gallon jar
fill jar to top with water

drink 1 cup everyday! I have also tried it and my blood pressure came down also!

Do a search for the DASH diet -- you can generally find recipes with that, and it's specific for high blood pressure.
