What can I take for aching joints???
I've been taking Advil, not working anymore. I blame the achy, arthritis like feeling on the chemo I had, because I was always fine until then. Now, I'm limping around, achy, grouchy. Any suggestions?

My MIL swears by Tylenol arthritis. I'd give that a try and don't forget Icy Hot, I live with that stuff.

My mom has arthritis in her knees and she swears by the following:
Golden raisins (not the regular kind - GOLDEN)
Gin
Place raisins in dish, any kind is fine.
Cover the raisins with gin - not a lot, just enough to cover raisins. Cover and let it set on counter for 7-10 days until the raisins absorb all of the gin
Eat 9 raisins a day
I know, sounds crazy to me but I have seen the change in the way my mom can move. She could barely get off the couch without help or climb her steps without grabbing the hand rails. Now, she can do it all with out holding on to anyone or anything and this is the only change she made - no other medicines.

Southern Comfort, coca cola, with a squeeze of lemon and lime. This will work along with the BioFreeze Ointment of course. I hope you feel better.

One of my clients swore that after she gave up foods with nutrasweet, her aches and pains went away. I just can't seem to give up my diet pepsi though. Maybe you could try that....

Isn't there a supplement for achy joints? glucosamine; chondroitin. I've never taken it before, but I know people that swear by it. I'm not sure how much you should take at a time.
I do have a warning for you though. If you use Icy Hot or something topical, be careful about mixing it with oral analgesics. I read an article where a woman overdosed by doing that! Before that I would never have even thought there was a danger of that.
I hope you find something that works for you!

The thing that helps me the most is an anti-inflammatory diet .. more omega-3 fish, etc. Arthritis is an inflammatory disease.

I agree with EmilyD.
I hate medications- which will give you side effects that you need to take medication to control.
Try diet change.

Try eliminating dairy - this basically took away my arthritis. Also, you could supplement with magnesium and possibly glutamine. Do you have other health issues since chemo - diahrhea, sleep issues, incontinence, moodiness, etc. I suspect if you try a diet change - eliminating major allergens for 2 weeks and reintroduce or keep a food diary and try to relate to symptoms you will see part of the issue. I would also try giving up gluten.

My husband was taking Celebrex but the doctor took him off due to the risk of harmful side effects. The closest thing he's found over the counter to Celebrex is Excedrin's new Back And Body. He really feels it does a good job.

I agree with MommyBliss. Tylenol Arthritis really helps me. I alternate it with Aleve but Tylenol seems to do the most for me.
I hope you find something that helps you soon.
