thought I would die
I had my brain scanned today. Befor the CT they gave me some opque matter (I am not sure about this word), and I had an allergic reacton. Since I have lived with cancer for ten years now, I have had my fair deal of all kinds of scans. I have never had any reactions before.
Now as soon as they injected, I started to feel funny. Like millions of ants inside me. I couldnīt breath normally and afterwards threw up a lot. It was the scariest feeling I have ever had. I really thought I would die. I am OK now, but I still feel a little shaky.
Just wanted to share.

How awful. At least you were where you could get help, and not at home or by yourself. I hope the scan results (could they still do it?) will be good. I've done the cancer thing myself, and the tests become a weariness, don't they?

So scary. I'm glad you are feeling ok now. I had a "near death" experience last year. Nearly bled to death in the emergency room before they could get me into an open OR for emergency surgery. So I know exactly the feeling you are talking about. Twice while I was laying there (in and out of conciousness), I truly thought I was going to die. I was actually surprised that i was at peace with my life when I thought I was on the way out.
At least now, you know you are allergic to it and can make sure it never happens again!

The dye they use for tests like that can cause allergic reactions in some people. I'm glad you are ok though!

Big Hugs! That had to be a scary few minutes. Hopefully you will feel back to normal soon. Make sure all your Docs get the info about what you reacted to so it can go in all your charts.
