no insurance
Good morning, I'm new here and have onoy rplied to a couple threads but now I find myself in need of some suggestions. I live in Pa and yesterday I was told I needed all this testing done from gall bladder to diaetes. Shouldn't be a problem. But I got a a call from the hospital today saying that since I still owed them money from an earlier injury, I have to pay up front since I have no insurance. My husband makes 50 bucks a month too much to get any help and his insurance would be almost his whole paycheck to put me on it.If anyone has any suggestion or ideas on where I can turn I'd really appreciate it.Tia

I live in PA too. What about the Adult Basic through the state of PA? I think there is a monthly fee but it isn't much, I am sure way less that what it would cost your DH to put you on his.

I have Adult Basic but it doesn't kickin for 6 months even though I have to pay 200.00 a month for it. The way I was spoken to made it even worse. Like Iwas a piece of dirt for not having insurance. The woman I spoke to was rude and snotty and actually told me not to call that number any more that it's a private number. It's the one listed in the phone book. I am biting my tongue for now until I see if I can find anything else. I did find a hospital that will do the lbood work and then bill me. So instead of 8 miles I have to drive 40. Thanks for info though.

Well my mouth finally did some good. I sent off an email to the administration of patient care. I explained what was going on and how I was treated. Also about all the double billing that went on when I did have insurance and after my husbands accident. To make a loong story short I'm going in themorning for the tests. The woman Italked to was very nice and concerned, even though I know they get paid to be that way, she explained that the back bills were for things that my insurance was suppose to pay and never did. I thought it was resolved but they just wrote it off. Sometime I guess it pays to be verbal. Which I do very well at times
lol. Thanks again for the suggestion
