Default Mainstream Media Promotes Medical Myths by 'Dispelling' Them

    http://www.naturalnews.com/z023624.html

(NaturalNews) The MSNBC TODAY Show recently teamed up with drug companies to help "dispel" several "medical myths" that were "passed down by your grandparents" and which may have led you to believe you were actually healthy.

In the conveniently anonymous article "7 Medical Myths That Can Kill You (5/21/08)", which offered no means for reader feedback, TODAY reminds us that if we don't treat diseases early and often, we will die. The ghostwriter of the article does not even hint at the idea that a healthy diet can be a factor in disease prevention. After all, the Chief Medical Editor of The TODAY Show (who ranks right up there with the Chief Medical Editor of the National Enquirer) Dr. Nancy Snyderman wants you to remember that only advances in patentable technology can prevent disease (oh and please buy her book).

The TODAY Show ultimately sends the message that your getting treatment is extremely important for the health of the Medical Industrial Complex.

Here are the 7 individual messages that their article sends (see if you notice a pattern):

From reading the article, it sounds like they want us all drugged up on some sort of traditional medicine to stay healthy.

    GOOD.
The Medical Industrial Complex in the last 5 years has:
    - Replaced my father's knee
    - Detected stage 1 prostate cancer and successfully treated it, because he was having tests done with regard to his knee.
    - Detected stage 1 non-hodgkins lymphoma because of the follow up treatments for his prostate cancer
    - Supplied a drug, Glevec, which has kept the non-h-l in total remission for over a year now

    And:
    - Detected and saved the life of my friend and co-worker who last year was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. The chemotherapy is shrinking his tumors.

    GO DOCTORS GO!!!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Ahhhhh.....gotta love mainstream tv. Maybe I should run to the doctor and have him or her put me on some cocktail of preventative medicine for things I may get 20 years from now.

Maybe I should call the lawn service to take care of my lawn,
A maid to clean my house
A teacher to come educate my kids
A chef to cook for us
And a chauffeur to drive me around.

Someday, mainstream USA will realize that they are capable, thinking people that can rely upon themselves.

I hope and pray that all of these people you have mentioned here have changed their lifestyles as well, Greebo? I have seen doctor's and "legal" drug's kill far too many and there is no way that I can do a happy dance or cheer them on. Now if trauma were the case......then those Dr's deserve all of the respect in the world for saving lives! Since my own dd is a stage 3b hodgkins survivor who made the choice to do chemo, she knows full well that she had better take care of herself if she does not want her cancer to return! She is 5 years cancer free and eats a very clean diet and takes many whole food supplements. She even became pregnant during her last chemo "treatment" and delivered an almost 10 lb baby boy. The dr's said she would be sterile after chemo.......HA.......little did they realize that camen has a mom who knew what in the heck she was doing to protect her cells and start curing her cancer before she began that awful chemo. She has now had three babies in 5 years. I hope all of your friends can pull through this.

How is my Father supposed to have changed his lifestyle, CB? What do you know about his lifestyle that you can presume he doesn't exercise, eat well, etc.?

Is medical science perfect? By no means. But your advocation of only going to the doctor for physical trauma, which is how it comes across, is just plain irresponsible - bordering on criminally so, IMO.

Two word"s.......cellular degeneration. That is how we fall apart. But if we are giving our cells what they need then we do not fall apart Greebo.

I do not go to conventional Dr's because I am not into having test's done that will destroy me at the cellular level. I go to a wonderful Naturopath once or twice a year and I have darkfield studies done on my blood.

IMHO.....what is criminal are the Dr's and Big Pharma......they are the ones who are killing hundreds and thousands every year . Why would I want to subject myself to something like that? I almost died 20 years ago from misdiagnosis and one of their drug's. That was enough to wake me up!

Riiiight - so if someone just lives a perfectly healthy and natural life, they'll never get sick and live forever.

Ok - I know better than to argue with that belief system!

That's right Greebo! But they do not live forever . They die of old age in their sleep.

No, don't argue about it. Just take some time and do your research. You might just learn a thing or two and become passionate about it.... as I have.

Just take some time and do your research.
Only problem with that is the statistics you will find have been taken or created when the world wasn't SO full of the toxins it is today. The data WILL be skewed IMO.

Do not misunderstand me. I think a healthy lifestyle will benefit the majority of the people and increase their life. I am not in any way arguing that point.

Ahhhh, excellent point there rcannon! And all the more reason that is is important to detox on a regular basis and to definitely hop on the wagon to a much healthier lifestyle.

Thank you. I think you're the one that should write for them, unless you already do.

I tend to be really sarcastic (in hopefully a funny way) about this stuff for one main reason - I was the poster child for mainstream USA until I decided that there had to be a better way to do, oh, everything. I have so much more that I want to learn, but hopefully we're on the right track.
