So true. I am on a MISSION to get DH off ALL of his drugs (BP, 2 diabetic, chol. drug, diuretic needed to counteract harm from diabetic pills!??!, pill for diabetic neuropathy) ----and me off my Celexa. I have been reading sites about raw and nearly-raw eating, and people reversing their diabetes. I'm pumped! DH's sugar was 107 last night! He was so happy!

DH may have to stay on his gout medication. Even when he has eaten very healthfully for a long time, he can't seem to go off it without VERY painful, red and swollen toes. His family has SOOOO many health problems. I am glad my sons eat healthfuly and exercise. They are going to need it to ward off dad's 'inheritance', LOL!

I was having anxiety attacks all my life and went on Celexa last October. It was a relief at the time(I'd been in a four day panic), but I really believe the lifestyle and food changes I'm making will make it unecessary with time.

True to an extent. They are in the business of making money, which they do in several ways - finding medications that treat diseases (which is positive and health related), pushing drugs on people and keeping the prices of their drugs as high possible since the price isn't all that correlated with demand in this case.

Yes and no... I worked at one point for a big pharma company. A lot (not all) of the scientists are interested in making a difference, but the management & bosses are all about business and bottom line. They push through a lot of medicines before they have been totally vetted. Not to mention the enormous pull they have in Washington to make sure that we remain a medicated society.
