Anyone counting calories to lose weight?
I'm on my 5th day of counting calories. It's a bit time-consuming, but so far I'm doing pretty well, I think.
I'm still reading up on going mostly raw, but for now, keeping track of my calories is working.
Anyone else?

I dont count calories. But I think its engrained in my head that the more raw or less cooked/processed something is = less calories to me. I do know tater chips are high in calories but sometimes you just have to do it and have them. Food cooked at home is also almost always better for you then eating out right? And I try to stick to eating from home or at home.
IF I had to count calories, I'd probably go mental...itd be fun at first then I'd start obsessing
I think I'm more of a watch what you eat kinda calorie counter if you will

I just started a new commitment to calorie counting today, as a matter of fact! I use fitday pc...which makes it pretty quick and easy. I'm also working on being a healthier vegetarian and adding more raw foods to my diet.

Hello, fellow calorie counters! I really fell off in July and the scale showed the results of that. I'm back to counting everything. I think it's the easiest way to keep my weight in check. I use SP, too. I also like to post in my journal over here, when I'm not slacking off! LOL!!

I am starting tomorrow. I just met with the dietician today and she recommended it. I'm sure it's going to be an eye opener.

Hey Michelle, Before I started raw I used to count calories /weigh my food. But once I started raw that 40 lbs just fell right off. It has so many enzymes and so much fiber, the food leaves the body quickly.
One of the keys to effortless weightloss is fiber and plenty of water consumption throughout the day.
I have just recently discovered a new fiber protein meal replacement shake and it is 82% raw and it tastes like a fruity/nutty tropical shake. And I can drink one of these for lunch and I am not kidding you when I say that I am full for 5 or 6 hours! I am posting the link of where I purchase this protein shake. Good luck to all ! HUGS.

The Acai is wonderful if you like a nutty tropical taste. That is my favorite, but the chocolate is really good too:-)

Two Lynn raw foodists...what are the odds of that?

My 2 week weigh in was Friday, and I'm 5.6 pounds down so far.Last edited by vigilant20; 08-11-2008 at 02:51 PM. Reason: cuz I always put a t at the end of weigh :)

This morning was my week 3 weigh-in. I'm down 2.8 pounds this week, for a total of 8.6 pounds lost so far! Calorie counting, being 50-80% raw, and a love for my new elliptical seems to be the right combination for me.
