My sister has been on Chemo since the end of April. Yes it is horrifying to look at those photos, but I would rather that be killing the cancer, than taking a chance that something natural would work.. My sister is only 34 years old with three boys under the age of 7... She has NOT lost her hair, been violently ill, and only once or twice has had any mouth sores.. Chemo is nasty, don't get me wrong, but if it cures or helps in curing my sister, then let it do what it does. She is actually hoping they will give her stronger chemo, just to make sure it is doing the job well..

On the other hand, my mother was violently ill from day one, lost a ton of weight, all of her hair fell out, and she eventually stopped the chemo. She ungortunately did not survive... I miss her daily. I don't want my nephews to miss their mom at such a young age if there is treatment that can help.

This is not to debate anything, just my feelings. I think chemo is nasty... Just not to everyone. I also don't believe it is in the name of money that chemo is here. I am glad someone invented it. It does save lives.. Yes, it is spendy, but I would want to do EVERYTHING in my power to live, or at least lenghten my time on earth... JMHO.. No tomato throwing...

It is true that Chemo is a very strong procedure that is toxic if given in the wrong way. That was an unfortuante accident, one that should have been prevented. I would however wonder wether the gentleman still went ahead with his chemotherapy. I would almost bet that he did and it probably prolonged his life. There are risks involved with everything. That is why people need to get a second opinions, way your options, look into other non-traditional treatments and make an informed decision. Aren't we fortunate that there are many options for us in the United States!

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom and for having to watch your sister suffer. I agree that chemo is not just a way to make money. It is not a perfect option but the best one many people have.

I think natural and holistic cures have a place... largely as a preventative measure instead of cure and then to keep a person as healthy as possible during more traditional treatments. IMHO our best hope is for eastern/holistic therapies and western/traditional therapies to learn to work together and treat the patient as a whole while still pinpointing disease.

I'll be praying for you and your sister!
