Tips to take off Pounds

I especially liked the list of 10 foods that fill you up.
As an emotional eater, I really appreciated the suggestions for not letting stress hinder one's weight loss efforts.

Thank you! This was very informative and I agree the tips are wonderful. I'll be saving and sharing this one.
" May we never let the things we can’t have or don’t have or shouldn’t have spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it. One of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have."

I'm an emotional eater too Michelle and that has proven to be my biggest challenge in stressful times especially. I do pretty well coping with the other (lighter) emotions but boy was it tough when my mom was so sick and then died. I've learned to make myself take few minutes and just 'feel' what's eating at me....that helps me not eat to suppress it.

Did anyone notice the recipe for the smoothie?
Finally one that doesn't call for yogurt!
I can eat those small containers of yogurt but put it in a smoothie?
Ewwww, I don't what the difference is?
Great link, Michelle!Michelle in middle Tennessee!
Ever so slowly rebuilding my stockpile...

That is a great article!!
I do like the list of food you can fill up on....
In the past couple months I have gone down a couple sizes with good ole exercise and not snacking....but knowing what I can fill up on for a snack is good news!!

Some tips from my blog...
I work in a retail store and people kept stopping me to ask me how I've lost all the weight,so I started a blog so I could let them go read how I've done it because I didn't feel right taking my employers time to tell them.
Anyway, here are a few of the things I've learned over the last 10 months:
1. Low-fat works.
2.Don't skip meals.
3.Keep your metabolism going.
4.Eat snacks between meals to keep metabolism going.
4.The capsaicin in hot peppers speeds up your metabolism.
I hope these help. I have more tips.
Good Luck..
Deborah

Really great article. I really needed it. I hate going to the gym but I dont mind running around with the kids. It is good to know that sometimes I can do that instead.

I just re-read the article.
I already knew the things in the article. I've done a LOT of reading on weight loss in the last 10 months. My husband is very supportive and he subscribed me to several magazines that have been very, very helpful. Anyway, this time while I read it,I made a few notes on things I wanted to add.
It said to drink water to keep your metabolism going...actually, drink ice water because your metabolism has to work to warm the water up.
It said to eat 2 servings of vegetables...I ALWAYS have 2 servings of vegetables.I read on the Amer. Diabetes site that your plate should be divided in quarters...1/4 meat;1/4 potato/rice,etc and the other half should be veggies. I was borderline diabetic at 304 pounds...1 1/2 months later my blood sugar was ok. While you're at it, reduce from a dinner plate to a salad plate...doesn't hold as much!
Make those 10 snacks into 11. Add celery sticks with HOT salsa. No fat and the salsa makes your metabolism go nuts! Besides,it's delicious.
One more thing that I don't remember being mentioned in that article...ALWAYS eat a salad. a large one with fat free dressing. Eat it first. Don't eat it while you're eating the rest of your meal. It starts to fill you up before you get to food with fat and calories. Also, eat slowly. It gives your body time to figure out that it's getting full! If I skip the salad though,I get hungry between meals.
If you find any of this helpful, you can find my blog through my profile. again, good luck to all

I don't think the article was meant to cover everything that one can do to lose weight. I found it helpful and wanted to share.
