    Default Fasting

My church has built a bigger church and we will be having our first service there in a few weeks. Our Pastor has asked us to go on a church wide fast, The Daniel Fast.

Has anyone done this Fast before? Or any Fast?

This will be my first fast. I am excited in knowing that the Lord will be moving in all our lives.

I had to look up the Daniel Fast to see exactly what it is. It sounds wonderful. I have done a fast before but only for 24 hours and we drank only liquids. My family and I did a detox for 7 days. It sounds like the Daniel fast will be very cleansing for the body and for the soul, as well as other benefits. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

"So, a Daniel fast is eating only fruits and vegetables for a certain amount of time, abstaining from meat products". Some people use a Daniel fast as a dieting method. Some people use a Daniel fast instead of fasting from food entirely."
    Very interesting.
I have fasted before. A long time ago. Wasn't the easiest thing to do. But I think I could do the Daniel Fast. I hope all goes well with your fasting.

Fasting is not easy in the beginning, but after a bit you feel wonderful.

Blessings to your family for doing this and your church family too!

I used to be confused about the Daniel fast as I was initially told that it included fruits and just not rich things. This is the fast talked about in Daniel 10. If you look in Daniel 1, he says to give him vegetables and water for 10 days and to compare him to those who ate from the king's table (paraphrased from memory - sorry if it is a bit inaccurate)- it sounds like an awesome cleansing fast - I have known people who have detoxed so much they quit rather quickly, but if you stick it out, you will feel great. Also, if your mind is on wholesome veggies and not on food preparation, it will be much clearer in prayer. Blessings!
