Default Okay, I have to brag JUST a little :)

First off, the only way I will ever see 30-anything years of age again is if my eyes are donated to a teenager in a corneal implant. This will become relevant in a minute.

I went to the store today, and I picked up some brandy, because I am going to be making brandy balls as part of my Christmas platter. I don't drink, so I don't buy alcohol very often - just as a present for someone else typically. I think it has probably been a year or so since my last purchase.

I go up to the clerk, a woman in her late 20's, early 30's, maybe, with my little bottle of peanut oil, my bag of ginger, my Half and Half, and my bottle of brandy. She looks at me as she is scanning the brandy and asks me for my driver's license.

I just sort of looked at her for a second, then I asked, "You can't POSSIBLY believe that I'm under 21, can you?" as I fished out the license. Her deadpan response was, "Oh, no, but we have to ask everyone who looks under THIRTY for their license."

I bit back the response on my lips (which was, "You can't POSSIBLY believe that I'm under 30, can you?") and just accepted that she probably is not aware of either her vision problems or perhaps the chemical imbalance in her brain, and I gave her my driver's license.

Hmm...maybe I need to go buy a bikini....

That's funny! Our grocery store has to have a license from at least one person who is present while buying alcohol. The register is set up so that you can't buy the alcohol unless a valid Driver's License ID # is entered. I've seen 80 year old people produce a license so the clerk can enter the code and finish the transaction....that's how I found out. I over heard a very elderly gentleman ask why he couldn't buy beer without his Driver's License and the clerk explained how the store operates and there is a sign at the register that says we card everyone!

I kind of expected her to say something along those lines when I asked if I looked under twenty-one. I thought she was going to say that store policy required they look at everyone's license, regardless of age, blah, blah, blah. But I liked her response better. And she just looked at it and handed it back. (At least she didn't gasp and say, You are HOW OLD????")

I was in a grocery store in the states last year and they asked me for ID. I'm not used to buying alcohol in a grocery store and it was right as I was handing her my coupons (yes, I even coupon while on vacation in another country ). I was so totally confused because I'm way too old to be ID'd, I actually thought that I needed ID to use the coupon. I even asked her why coupons required ID

ROTFL!!! I am trying to imagine that conversation. You confused as to why you needed your ID to coupon, and the clerk probably totally not understanding why you thought you needed your ID to coupon!

That is cute and so funny. lol

I get carded all the time. I think there is a sign in our Walmart that says they will card anyone that looks even 40.

It does feel good when they ask for my ID at some places and I am 38. teehee.

    That is cute.
My hubby tells me that I look young all the time. I laugh and tell him it is because of the healthy layer of fat under my skin. Keeps the wrinkles from forming. LOL

I recently got carded at the casino. He didn't and he is 2 yrs younger than I am. I am 36.

I'm a bartender, and one morning after getting off shift, I went to the girls room and changed because it was cold outside, I sat down for my after shifter and the woman I trained, who relieved me that morning carded me LMAO
I had to LMAO "ummm, hello, I trained you for this job, I'd have to be 21 or older not only to work here but train you as well" She carded me anyway and I showed her my ID, she lasted about 2 days after that lol!!!
It sure is nice being carded though!

That is too funny! Dh and I went out to dinner with some of our "young" friends the other day. They are 23 and 25...well, after ordering drinks, the waitress carded them, as DH was getting his license out, she turns and says..."That's ok, hon. I believe you!" It was way too funny! He is only 32, but I think he was a bit offended!
