Do you have a skin care routine?
Today I was at the mall and one of those kiosk salespeople tried to get me to buy some skin care stuff for $260! I did not buy it. But I did start wondering if I should be doing some type of skin care. I'm 51, I have kinda oily skin, and all I've ever done is the good ol'soap and water thing.
So...what do you do?On 11-22-85 I married the man of my dreams.
On 01-13-89 I gave birth to the love of my life.

I never wash my face with soap. I do use some inexpensive products from Walmart, made especially for face care.
I usually use a face wash, an astringent, and a SPF 15 moisturizer
Occasionally I use a microbeaded wash, but too much use bothers my skin.
I also like the Olay cloths.Last edited by EmilyD; 12-21-2008 at 09:38 PM.

I use the Mary Kay Timewise System. http://www.marykay.com/paulapafw/ski...g/default.aspx
1st: Timewise 3-in-1 Cleanser
2nd: Day Solution w/ SPF 20 or Night Solution (depending on day or night)
3rd: Timewise Moisturizer
I'm normal to dry but thay also have combination to oily formula.
Mary Kay does sell the Miracle Set that includes all the above plus a foundation for $104.
I know a lot here might not spend that kind of money, but since doing the routine I listed above my skin has gotten a lot smoother and clearer. I used to get really red cheeks and now I don't. I used to use department store lines but I find Mary Kay's line is just as good if not better and more affordable.
Sorry I wrote a book.

No soap here as I have very dry skin. I wash with water, then add moisturizer. If I wear make up, I mix it with moisturizer. I use lots of lip gloss as my lips are very dry, also.

I use the same Mary Kay Timewise system as PaulaPAFW. In the winter, I switch to the Oil Free Hydrating Gel. My skin, especially on my cheeks by my nose gets super super dry, so I have to keep it moisturized. I buy most of my products on Ebay for no more than half price. The stuff lasts forever too! So, I'm not constantly buying product. I have a feeling that by the time I'm 50, my skin will still be young looking!

I use the Mary Kay Satin Hands on my face. I've never thought of myself as having sensitive skin, but the Timewise and anything made by Oil of Olay make my face break out in tiny red bumps. So at some point, I was given Satin Hands for Christmas and tried it on my face and it works like a charm. I just don't use the night emollient on my face, I save that for my dry cracked feet in the winter. But the rest of the system is perfect for my face!
If I run out of that, I use regular liquid, antibacterial soap and an oil free moisturizer!

I wash with a Clarisonic Skin brush, use Renova ever other night, alternated with Emu Oil to combat overdrying on the other nights. I use a mint Julep or aspirin mask 2-3x/week and wear sunscreen everyday.
I do not mess around when it comes to skincare.

I'm allergic to most of that stuff so I just use Phisoderm wash (not soap) on my face then follow w/ Clean & Clear moisturizer + SPF. I was actually complimented on how "porcelain" like my skin was when I met up with an old high school friend after Thanksgiving lol.

Lately, I've been washing with Dove soap, and slathering on a nn Cetaphil cream (in the tub). It's Walgreen's brand of cetaphil which was on sale for $4-something a few weeks ago. I'm very dry and chapped in winter.
