    Default March 1st- Daily Accountability

    WELCOME ALL!

    Our creed is simple: No Judgment, just love, support and understanding. Through mutual SUPPORT and understanding as a TEAM, we'll experience a HEALTHIER LIFE together!!


    ACCOUNTABILITY to ourselves and our teammates will help each of us to acquire a healthy lifestyle. Lending SUPPORT to others will help us strengthen ourselves.

    We all share such precious life stories and maybe for the first time we found a place where we can be HONEST with our feelings and how we act out with food. For most of us it is EMOTIONAL EATING that gets us every time. It has many names; COMPULSIVE EATING, RESTRICTING, BINGEING, OUT OF CONTROL EATING, NUMBING, SELF-MEDICATING, whatever you call it we struggle with food and can't figure out why it is so hard!!

    Some of us here are dealing with eating disorder (ED) issues but we all find the accountability to others and ourselves a much-needed resource!!!... COMMUNICATION with each other on a regular basis will keep us strong!

    Did I eat mindfully?

    Did I take care of and nurture my body?

    Did I practice self acceptance and avoid negative self talk?

    Did I use my tools of recovery? These may include meal plans, water minimums, journaling, etc.- Whatever works for YOU.

    Did I share my experience with food for the day somewhere I feel safe and nurtured? This may be here, in this forum, with a therapist, a close friend, a group such as OA, etc.- Again, whatever works for YOU.

    Did I select a word, phrase, and/or quote for the day?

    Did I eat mindfully?

    I had the stomach flu yesterday so I didn't eat much... and you better believe I thought carefully about what it was before hand, lol.

    Did I take care of and nurture my body?

    I had no choice... my body needed sleep and I slept most of the day.

    Did I practice self acceptance and avoid negative self talk?

    yes

    Did I use my tools of recovery? These may include meal plans, water minimums, journaling, etc.- Whatever works for YOU.

    I was feeling blue about a news headline I was subjected to ALL DAY since I was in and out of conciousness in front of the tv... so when I felt better I went to Kate Harding's blog to feel better and sure enough she had posted on the topic. I LOVE her.

    Being sick I took it as a good time to get on the next day schedule everyone else is on.

    Oh elphie I hope your feeling better. Glad you were able to get some rest.

    Did I eat mindfully? Yes. I paid attention to everything I ate. I did have sweets but I was very conscious of it. DH had taken me out to a playhouse that a buffet dinner comes with. I watched what I ate from the buffett and I did let myself have a dessert but I made sure to split it with DH. We were celebrating and I find it's not only the negative emotions that pull me into eating but the happy celebratory ones too. I count this a a large success.

    I had a harder time with this yesterday as I found myself subconsciously berating myself as I tried to find something to wear to go out.

    Still working on what my tools all are. I did spend a lot of time congradulating myself on each small thing I would have normally done differently and remotely without thought.

    I didn't do this. Not even here.

    Did I select a word, phrase, and/or quote for the day?mini skirt - I thought of wanting to be able to be confident wearing a mini skirt. Currently I won't put on any skirt or dress forget about a mini so this was a helpful reminder of how much I need to pay attention.

    oh, isn't it amazing how much progress we can make and then getting dressed for a special occasion can drag us back down. I'm glad you recognized this and were able to go out, have a nice evening, and even enjoy dessert.
