    Default March 3- Daily Accountability

    WELCOME ALL!

Our creed is simple: No Judgment, just love, support and understanding. Through mutual SUPPORT and understanding as a TEAM, we'll experience a HEALTHIER LIFE together!!

ACCOUNTABILITY to ourselves and our teammates will help each of us to acquire a healthy lifestyle. Lending SUPPORT to others will help us strengthen ourselves.

We all share such precious life stories and maybe for the first time we found a place where we can be HONEST with our feelings and how we act out with food. For most of us it is EMOTIONAL EATING that gets us every time. It has many names; COMPULSIVE EATING, RESTRICTING, BINGEING, OUT OF CONTROL EATING, NUMBING, SELF-MEDICATING, whatever you call it we struggle with food and can't figure out why it is so hard!!

Some of us here are dealing with eating disorder (ED) issues but we all find the accountability to others and ourselves a much-needed resource!!!... COMMUNICATION with each other on a regular basis will keep us strong!

    Did I eat mindfully?

Did I take care of and nurture my body?

Did I practice self acceptance and avoid negative self talk?

Did I use my tools of recovery? These may include meal plans, water minimums, journaling, etc.- Whatever works for YOU.

Did I share my experience with food for the day somewhere I feel safe and nurtured? This may be here, in this forum, with a therapist, a close friend, a group such as OA, etc.- Again, whatever works for YOU.

Did I select a word, phrase, and/or quote for the day?

    Challenges:
    EF: £107/£100 (eventually £1000)
I wasn't lying when I said it would be the slowest EF fund savings program EVER!

Rooted Nomad- Good for you for recognizing that you were eating when bored. Do you know where you would like to reach out in RL?

Elphie- I'm sorry to hear that you beat yourself up over having a snack. I need to work on my fruits and veggies. I just went to my first OA meeting last night... and it was great. How is dh? I have to read K. Harding's site, you seem to enjoy it so much!

hmmm. I "forgot" this part. I did take a walk in the beautiful weather and look at the crocuses, I did have a nice, long soak in the tub, so OK yeah, I did alright there.

Did I practice self acceptance and avoid negative self talk?

Not until about 8 pm last night...

Did I use my tools of recovery? These may include meal plans, water minimums, journaling, etc.- Whatever works for YOU.

I went to my first OA meeting here and it was great *huge sigh of relief* It was such a gentle meeting with such supportive women. No pressure and I was allowed to share instantly. Food for the day, however, is another story.

Did I share my experience with food for the day somewhere I feel safe and nurtured? This may be here, in this forum, with a therapist, a close friend, a group such as OA, etc.- Again, whatever works for YOU.

    Yes, here and in OA.

Did I select a word, phrase, and/or quote for the day?

Another chance for a new beginning.

AdamantEve, dh is still recovering... won't go into the gory details but the healing process is slow with this surgery and he is still not up to par. As I typed that I realize that part of my issues with weight this week are tied to that- he is unable to eat and has lost nearly 20 lbs in the week and a half since surgery (he so didn't need to lose it either, poor guy). Despite the discomfort and difficulty I actually find myself a little jealous- my ED is rising up and twisting his situation into something desirable. I'm glad you found an OA group and I hope they continue to be a good fit for you. If you are interested in reading Kate's blog here is the link. http://kateharding.net/

    Did I eat mindfully?

yes, for the most part. I found myself hungry again at bedtime and I conciously chose to have a snack of my choosing.

Did I take care of and nurture my body?

I didn't have time for a walk. I did make sure to have vegetables with my lunch.

Did I practice self acceptance and avoid negative self talk?

this is such a struggle for me this week and I actually DREAMED about losing weight last night... it has really creeped into my self concious. I also chastized myself a little for a couple of food choices and had to remind myself that they were CHOICES I had made MINDFULLY so it was okay.

Did I use my tools of recovery? These may include meal plans, water minimums, journaling, etc.- Whatever works for YOU.

I read Kate's blog... I also checked out Intuitive Eating from the library.

    Here, not in RL

Did I select a word, phrase, and/or quote for the day?

Hey Elphie, I'm sorry that dh isn't feeling well. I can relate to feeling jealous of someone's weight loss too- even tho it's not healthy!

Elphie, I hope that you will choose health today.

I might not have internet for a day or so starting tomorrow. I found a cheaper ISP and phone package. I hope that I won't be without the net for long. Please leave the light on for me.
