    Default March 21 Daily Accountability

    WELCOME ALL!

    Our creed is simple: No Judgment, just love, support and understanding. Through mutual SUPPORT and understanding as a TEAM, we'll experience a HEALTHIER LIFE together!!


    ACCOUNTABILITY to ourselves and our teammates will help each of us to acquire a healthy lifestyle. Lending SUPPORT to others will help us strengthen ourselves.

    We all share such precious life stories and maybe for the first time we found a place where we can be HONEST with our feelings and how we act out with food. For most of us it is EMOTIONAL EATING that gets us every time. It has many names; COMPULSIVE EATING, RESTRICTING, BINGEING, OUT OF CONTROL EATING, NUMBING, SELF-MEDICATING, whatever you call it we struggle with food and can't figure out why it is so hard!!

    Some of us here are dealing with eating disorder (ED) issues but we all find the accountability to others and ourselves a much-needed resource!!!... COMMUNICATION with each other on a regular basis will keep us strong!

    Did I eat mindfully?

    Did I take care of and nurture my body?

    Did I practice self acceptance and avoid negative self talk?

    Did I use my tools of recovery? These may include meal plans, water minimums, journaling, etc.- Whatever works for YOU.

    Did I share my experience with food for the day somewhere I feel safe and nurtured? This may be here, in this forum, with a therapist, a close friend, a group such as OA, etc.- Again, whatever works for YOU.

    Did I select a word, phrase, and/or quote for the day?

    Good Morning!!!!

    Just as a heads up my posts are probably going to get spotty for the next couple of weeks. We've got quite a bit going on and my free time/computer access might get very limited. On the other hand, if we head off to my inlaws it might get very abundent. Just not sure how the next couple of weeks are going to play for sure.

    Did I eat mindfully?yes. my head did a lot of the you should't have that stuff but I overrode it and let myslef have in moderation what I wanted instead of what I should have.

    Did I take care of and nurture my body?I excersized and got some extra rest.

    Did I practice self acceptance and avoid negative self talk?I didn't really have time to engage in anything negative.

    Did I use my tools of recovery? These may include meal plans, water minimums, journaling, etc.- Whatever works for YOU.I made time to excersize.

    Did I share my experience with food for the day somewhere I feel safe and nurtured? This may be here, in this forum, with a therapist, a close friend, a group such as OA, etc.- Again, whatever works for YOU.I didn't post here but I did actually talk through some food hang ups with a friend and my fear of screwing up drastically with it again.

    Good afternoon everyone! GG- Glad you had what you wanted instead of what you "should." I have come to think of should as a four letter word! NO more eating, doing, reading, things just because I should... I think of the actual reasons that I believe this is a should and decide if that reason is enough to follow through or if it is something superficial that I can ignore. I haven't abandoned my responsiblities, it has just helped me focus on what is important.

    Did I eat mindfully?

    yes, I did notice about half of my plate empty at supper last night before remembering to put down my fork but I corrected it as soon as I realized that I was allowing myself to be distracted.

    Did I take care of and nurture my body?

    yes

    Did I practice self acceptance and avoid negative self talk?

    sort of... we got the proofs in the mail of the pictures we had taken at church and I was immediately critical of myself. I stopped myself but put the pictures away. Today I'm going to challenge myself to find something I like about them instead of simply not looking at them.

    Did I use my tools of recovery? These may include meal plans, water minimums, journaling, etc.- Whatever works for YOU.

    Did I eat mindfully? No, however, the stupidity of my eating came from enjoying good, fun food. I wasn't munching mindlessly or eating to fill a void.

    Did I take care of and nurture my body? Did a little exercise, shovelled some snow, and did some housework.

    Did I practice self acceptance and avoid negative self talk? yes.

    Did I use my tools of recovery? These may include meal plans, water minimums, journaling, etc.- Whatever works for YOU. not today.

    Did I share my experience with food for the day somewhere I feel safe and nurtured? This may be here, in this forum, with a therapist, a close friend, a group such as OA, etc.- Again, whatever works for YOU.
