Default This is making me mad

I jst found out that my insurance will not cover some of my meds...... They won't cover Advair. They want 319.00 for 1 disket and 289.00 for the spiriva both are for my breathing problem. I only get 900 a month. I will be taking the rest of my meds down to see what else it will not cover. No wonder people don't get their scripts fill or take their meds wrong......

I'm sorry, sweetie. That sucks. Not fun at all. Hugs to you. I hope you get this figured out soon. Your health is precious. Have you tried some of those companies who give meds free if you are financially in need?

My insurance and dd's doctor will not aprove my dd who has fibro and can not make it through a trip through the store with out needing picked up and put in the cart for a wheelchair I was told that I can just put her in a cart she is 9 and weights 48lbs. I am only 5 ft and 100lbs I also have fibro and can not pick her up most days. I was told to leave her home when I did my shoping.

Funny how health insurance is becoming only for the healthy - duh when you are sick you need the insurance. Hello!

So sorry you're having these problems. Make sure you let your doctor know as there may be an alternative he can prescribe that is covered. Also sometimes the drug companies do have some programs to help people who have no coverage for meds. Good luck!

I just don't have words for how broken our health care coverage is in this country. Rainbowgc is right - it's for the healthy.

Ain't that the dang truth for sure.

Fernykins, I would for sure let your doctor know. Is there a generic for it?

Find out if you can take the generic versions.

We have had good luck the past three years or so getting prescription meds from a pharmacy in Canada called Global Drugs Direct. They list their drug prices online if you'd like to see what it would cost you to get something there or if they can even provide what you need.

GDD has been nothing but professional in all our dealings with them and from our experience, I would highly recommend them.

    Good luck.

No generics for the drugs.........other wise I would be getting them. The spiriva is for COPD and the Advair is for asthma. Mine you I've been hospitalized 3 times in respetory failure. So I'll be talking to my Dr next week and finding out what other ones are not covred.........

It looks like both the drugs you mentioned in your OP are at GDD for significantly less money.

    Good luck.

your physician can write a letter to the insurance company. that is one idea. another one is to see what meds are covered for your condition - then ask yu physician his thoughts on the ones that the insurance covers. a third idea would be to see if doctors ofc can get samples from the rep.
last, but not least, you can appeal.
