Had a second acupuncture treatment
I have to say.... it's interesting.
I'm not sure how he convinced me to have acupuncture as I'm incredibly needle phobic. It takes me a few weeks to work up to going for blood work, that's 1 needle! A few weeks ago he suggested it, I've brushed him off for 6 months..lol. But I guess I'm so stressed and run down I was willing to give it a try. Also have had leg cramps for 3 or 4 months that the regular Dr shrugs off, even lied about possible cause, ends up it's actually a muscle strain and not real leg cramps, which the acupuncture is treating as well as immune boosting
It wasn't terrible, there was 12 different needles. IF anyone tells you, you won't feel a thing, that's not entirely true. It's not painful, but it is uncomfortable. I did find that in a couple spots as time passed during the treatment, it was a heating/burning feeling but not terrible. I also received a B12 injection(OWIE! His technique prepping before the injection is worse than the injection!)
But it was really weird afterward. I didn't feel miraculously better, and he told me as much. He told me some people get a bit of a high from the B12, like when you have too much coffee, but I didn't.
However, when I'd gone in, I was sick, dd12, dh all had bronchitis and I was getting it. for me, that often turns into pneumonia. I had the sniffles, slight cough and night fever. After that, it all went away! Not overnight but I was treated Friday, and by Sunday it was all done, and dh was feeling horrid....lol.
Today I went in just for the B12 and ended up with acupuncture as well. A firm scolding on not eating properly, and not coming routinely for the B12. LOL.. he's so bossy. I totally enjoy the verbal sparring with him.
Right now my arm is sore from the injection but the leg cramps have subsided considerably, they were so bad, even trying to turn in bed, the weight of the blankets would wake me. We'll see how the blood building is going next week when he gets a copy of my lab results.

I have Trigeminal Neuralgia, fibromyalsia and CFS and I have been getting acupuncture for about 12 weeks now and I feel soooooo much better!! Keep at it I think that you may be able to get some relief. Be sure to do as the doctor says. Has he done any types of testing yet? I have had a hair analysis and they found that I was extremely low on many crucial vitamins and nutrients and now take supplements to help with that plus I am taking a liquid herb that is helping me sleep better - I was getting 4-5 hours a night and now I am getting 7-8 hours.
Where is your doc putting the needles? I get about 46 from the top of my head all the way to my ancles and he runs an electric current through about 8 of them. I am so relaxed when I leave!!
I have never had the burning sensation that you described. Once my needles are in I don't even feel them and I really don't feel much when he inserts them. Occasionally one might be hurting a bit but I tell him and he moves it right away and everything is fine.
Let me know how things are going as your treatment progresses and hang in there!!
