I had one last year, I am only 27 but due to med problems I had to bit the bullet and do one!! It wasn't bad at all, the prep leading up too it was worse then the actual procedure!! Don't worry its over so quick!!

Nothing to worry about. I was concerned about the sedation, but it wasn't bad or hard to come out of. No after effects. Just one of those things that is good to do. Once you have it, you'll understand and be helping others - it's the 'fear of the unknown' that usually gets us worried. This unknown procedure is one of the most tolerable.
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I agree. The prep is way worse than the procedure itself!

Yep, prep is the worst! I came to very quickly with no side effects. I WAS starving though and could not wait to get home and eat something!

Stay home for the day of the prep....you and the bathroom are going to be best friends.
Procedure goes well. Wake up real quick. And go home soon.--------My signature--------

yea, stay near a bathroom! LOL The prep is the worst. Procedure: You go in, you get your gown on, they start an IV, you get wheeled in, they use a needle to push the "go sleepy now" stuff into the IV, you wake up and then you go home. You'll be starving. So I say, that for being such a good little trooper, you should get your favorite meal afterwards!!

Stay right near a bathroom. Shower don't bath (horrible-ness happened...won't go into details, you can imagine) Don't go anywhere...stay HOME. The prep taste awful. I found chugging that and following it with a yummy drink was way better than sipping it or mixing, ick.
The procedure itself is a piece of cake in comparison!! Over before I realised it had started. The sedation is effective. Afterwards tough I was groggy for the rest of the day. next day all better.~~ Missy ~~

I kind of enjoyed the prep
It was hard to choke the stuff down, it tasted awful, but I found the results strangely satisfying.

Agree with everyone here.
Prep is the worst of it, the test is actually a breeze." May we never let the things we can’t have or don’t have or shouldn’t have spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it. One of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have."

I've had several. The worst part is the prep. The actual test is no big deal.

I had one a few years ago. Everyone else has already covered everything except for this: You'll be wanting a tube of Desitin or A&D ointment during the prep. Trust me on this. Go get one before you start the prep.

“When you get to the end of all the light you know

you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller

bribery and corruption are common; children no

every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”

I've had two and was out for both. It's the day of prep that about did me in -- made me so nauseous.
