Default Anyone know the average cost of a physiotherapist visit?

I do not have physiotherapy coverage in either of my insurances. I can ask to be referred to Community Rehabilitation Services, but I'd like to know what other options I have.

Is it expensive to go to one?

The orthopedic surgeons won't see me unless I've been to one, but I have a history of failed therapies and two previous surgeries. Is there a way I can find out the costs of a physiotherapy visit?

I would just look one up on the phone book and call. Can the ortho refer you to one?

Yeah we're looking into that in a couple of weeks. She wanted me to find out first if either of my health insurances covered physiotherapy. I found this company earlier that does cover $750 worth of visits per anniversary year, so I might look into that if it's going to be like $50 per visit.

Is physiotherapy the same as physical therapy? If so, mine charges $140 per hour. Just for a base of reference. How's it going?

    I think it's the same.

Bleh @ that cost! I'm thinking I might want to check out FlexCare because for about $24/mo, I get pretty good therapy coverage. They offer standalone plans, addons for existing coverages and whole insurance plans that take the place of what a employer's health coverage plan would do.

The money would come out of my pension and rightly so because the pension is from when I hurt myself in the Marines.

Things are going ok. I think my body is adjusting to the Naproxen because even if I take it with food, it still bothers me with daily use. Hopefully, I can get my MRI films from UNC Chapel Hill (which means I also have to call them back and have them send me the request for medical information form) and find out from Camp Lejeune what they did with my MRI films. I had two sets done back in the day and I still have my military medical record. I just need my civilian record.

When I broke my foot last year physical therapy (physiotherapy) was paid by the insurance I already have in this country. Total cost that they paid was close to $4,000! And that was just for a FOOT. My only out-of-pocket was a $10 co-pay three days a week for 8 weeks ($240) and $3.25 for a therapy band and with my FlexSpending Plan ALL of that was reimbursed to me! Just yet another reason why I don't want Socialized Healthcare styled like that of England and Canada in the U.S.A.
