Also, I think people that deal with panic/anxiety are not really 'depressed' but feel depressed because they feel it hard sometimes to function normal in society and sometimes feeling paralized. And what is really hard is that you can have major goals in life, but the 'fear' can hold you back. Of course this could be just my experience, but from what I read and who I have talked to, this is common.

I am all for meds if you find relief with them. There is nothing worse than the feeling of a panic attack or anxiety attack coming on when all you gotta do is drive down the street, to work, or just the grocery store. It's so frustrating. Sometimes I just want to feel 'normal.'
After my last episode that started in August 08 and lasted till Jan 09 it started with medical issues a mammogram that I had to have additional views done and they could not get me in for quite awhile. Started the progression, then there were other medical things that kept me on edge till I was having attacks all day everywhere. I definetly had the GAD (general anxiety disorder) like I've said my nerves were humming morning till night. Primed for the next attack. They say the conditions are set in motion for having a panic attack hours ahead of the actual attack.

worth the few minutes to read if you really want to start to get a handle of these horrible things.

A great workbook I have is called "The Anxiety and Phobia Worbook" by Edmund J. Bourne, Ph.D. This is actually a workbook full of great info that has helped me. It might be worth to check out as I refer back to it from time to time.
