    Default chest pain

I am on my blackberry so I apologize for any typos in advance. I need some advice. I have been having chest pain for the last few hours. It is on the left side above my breast and sometimes it radiates up my neck alittle and sometimes down my arm a little. I'm only 33 and have no medical probs. It is a constant pain. It really doesn,t seem to be getting any worse, but it's not getting better either. This may have nothing to do with it but my left ear has been hurting for the last 5 or so minutes. Any nurses or knowledgable people no what this might be? Should I go to ER now or wait to go to doc tomorrow? Any advise would be great!

I'm no nurse, but I do know that women's heart attacks often present very differently then mens at times. Please take your pain seriously and go to an ER and get checked out. It's better safe then sorry. My husband once went to the ER thinking he was having a heart attack and it was gas. They never made him feel small about it, telling him he did exactly what he should have done and the only way to be sure it to get checked out. Please don't risk it. Hugs.

    Lisette,
Try to get someone to drive you to the emergency room!!
Pollypurebred is right that women's heart attack symptoms
    can vary greatly from mens.

It could be a very bad case of gas. That can hurt in your
shoulder. It could be pleurisy. I just went through that.

Even though you say your pain is not getting any worse, the
    pain is not going away.

PLEASE call someone to take you to the emergency room!
Please don't wait around to see if the pain gets better.

I know you are probably scared. I was too. It is the
not knowing what's wrong that makes it worse.

    Keep us posted, sweetie.....
You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.

I hope you went and got it checked out! Even if you didn't last night you should go in today. Some time people feel out of sorts for days before an actual heart attack. Like the others that have posted have said women present differently than men when having heart attacks so go get yourself checked out pronto!!

Let us know how you are please.

I hope you were able to get it checked out and it was nothing but a bad case of gas. I agree, it could be pleurisy too.....I get that a lot and it can hurt.

Hoping you went immediately for help. Truthfully, a walk-in place is the last place to go for chest pain like you're describing (it's the best place, though, for a lot of other things - like chest pain associated with a cough)
It only delays treatment in case of heart attack or angina.
Just because you're in your 30s doesn't mean you can't be having a heart attack - it happens all the time. Your symptoms sounded pretty ominous to me- I wish I had been online last night to tell you this in a timely manner. PLEASE check in and let us know what happened.

I hope that by now you are in an ER. You have all the classic signs of a cardiac event. At the very least chew 2 aspirin now and get to the hospital.

It's times like this that I wish we knew someone who could tell us how lisettelovebug is. Prayers would never hurt.

Thank you all for your concern. yes i am fine. I have just been under the weather the last few days - i think i am fighting off the flu too and I have been getting migraines really easy. Add to the fact that I can't use my laptop because my cord broke and I have to use my blackberry or hubbie's laptop, and I just haven't been online much at all. The doctor doesn't think it is anything heart related, although she did run several tests and blood tests just to make sure. She thinks it could have just been a pulled muscle right there or maybe stress.

thank you for all your concern. this is why i love the village. Everyone is so caring here.
