Anyone do a makeover at the dept store?

I wondered if anyone has had a dept store makeover at the cosmetic counters before. Are they still free? (in hopes you will buy products)If so what was your experience with it?

Bumping this up....

I called once and made an appointment and I was walking out the door when the lady at the cosmetic counter called to informed me I would be REQUIRED to buy at least 2 items at the "free" makeover. I told her she wouldn't be seeing me at that appointment....no one tells me what I'm required to buy. I was nasty (which isn't how I act to sales people) but I thought it was so out of line for her to tell me this!! I would love to have one done but I just don't want to "have" to pay for items ....what if I didn't like them?????

I haven't done one at the counter, at least I don't remember?

Although I have had avon/mary kay lady's do makeovers for me for free. The last one they did just wasn't the way I like to do my makeup. They had me put on a pale pink eyeshadow if I recall. That just isn't a good color on me for eyeshadow..I like to stick to browns/grey's. But then again the pink might have looked great to other people

But I did learn about blending eyeshado and a little bit about how to apply eyeliner and things like that. So it was a great experience all in all..
