Veneers anyone have them?
I searched the forums and no luck. I heard they last about 20 years. Does anyone have them and are you happy with them? Do they hurt when you get them? Do they grind your teeth down? My teeth are good, but due to an accident 30 yrs. ago one of my front teeth are dead, its yellowish and really not that bad, but was wondering if any happy people out there with veneers?

~I don't have a veneer but I do have a composite tooth. Apparently they're only supposed to last around 10 years but mine is going on 16 years. Composites are cheap and painless, are they an option for you?

Don't really need them, but sometimes just want to do something for myself! I have learned to live with the dead tooth, but what the heck, if I can have a nicer smile why not!

I do not have any, but to answer your question, yes they grind down the tooth. The procedure is similar to getting a filling put in, but they are working on the outside surface. You get a numbing shot and they wedge your mouth open and all that fun stuff.

I wanted my husband to do it about 6 years ago when we had awesome dental ins that would pay 50% of the $1000 per tooth it cost then. He has teeth he is very self conscious about. They said 6 veneers would cover the smile area. I thought $3000 out of $6000 was a good deal. He cancelled deciding it was to extravagant. He held on to the $ and bought a used ATV. Now he kind of wishes he had done it.
