Default Eat Cheese to Stay Slim

I don't know how many of you are cheeseheads, like, me, but if you are, this article is good news! It discusses the health bonuses of eating full-fat cheese. I love, love, love cheese, but always tend to stay away due to the fat content. Perhaps I don't need to stay away quite as often!

I would rather go without almost anything than to go without cheese. A month or so ago I revived an old favorite I haven't had for a long time: grilled cheese sandwiches with multi-grain bread, havarti cheese, and caraway seed. Add some tomato soup and ... heaven on a plate!

    Thanks for the post.

Edited to add -- uh, the tomato soup is in a cup! That would be a very messy plate the way I wrote it.

I love cheese........just don't think one ounce would quite do the trick. I mean, really........a grilled cheese sandwich with JUST one ounce of cheese........I don't think so!!

Like the gal in the article, don't think I have met a cheese that I didn't like either. But...I have GOT to try goat cheese - have never tried it.

    Hi,

Thanks for the link. I remember seeing something on tv last year about some new research which linked calcium consumption and fat loss - so there is something in this cheese thing.

Lucky for me it's healthy because I eat a ton of it.I get extra cheese on my pizza, and tacos when we eat out and hubby always gives me any extra he doesn't want. I don't like blue cheese or limburger(sp?), well I can't say I don't like it because I've never gotten close enough to it to taste it. An ounce of cheese would only go as far as one cracker in my world.

    I love cheese too.

I want to try the artichoke, goats cheese chicken pizza

I like goats cheese spread on half a taosted bagel ( also less calories then the same amount of cream cheese spread on it) more of what I can a grown up taste too.

Amy - I read this a while back too! My old doctor even had me take calcium supplements to help me 'lose or control' my weight. I'm not gaining but I think he wanted me to lose PLUS something about the calcium & magnesium lessens diabetes? I'm not sure what he was trying to say but then again thats why he's my OLD doctor.

But thank you for reconfirming that full fat cheese is good for us

I love goat cheese plain and once my cream cheese runs out - I'm going to try that on my crackers/bagels etc It does have a distinct taste to it and I find some are more pungent then others but its so much more healthier then cream cheese. I can't wait!

*does her happy I can have cheese dance*

sargento has a cheese stick that is wrapped individually that is awesome. I believe it is an ounce and is just 60 calories. Just enough to satisfy a cheese craving.

Love cheese. Does this mean the fact that I spread a bunch of goat cheese on crackers and call it lunch most days is good??? I can hope right.
