Default My hip has been replaced!!! :) .....and it's all good!

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers for me while I went through this. I really appreciate it. I went in for my surgery on Wed. and I was home on Fri. It went great! (Well, the pain Wed nite was pretty intense, but we go past that and then kept on top of all the pain with great drugs!)

My surgeon did a great job! He was able to only give me about a six"ish" inch scar on the outside of my hip. I have a titanium hip, and get this: NO RESTRICTIONS! Now, I don't plan on sliding into home plate any time soon, but it's nice to know that I don't have to worry about accidentally crossing my legs or ankles.

I am up and walking with a walker. I have so much more movement than I did even a few days ago. I don't start official PT for about 1.5 weeks (dr wants there to be 2 weeks of healing first) - but I was sent home with strengthening/stretching excercises that I have been doing like crazy - and getting noticably better at already! The hardest part is remembering all the medicine to take, and at all the different times.

So anyway, I'm home. I may not be around too much - but I am grateful to be on the "other side of surgery".

    Thanks for caring!

    I love the village!!!
