Default Just got home from the ER.

I woke up @ 1am with a LOUD ringing in my ears. I stayed in bed til 3 am crying in pain because inside my ear hurts so bad. My ear was STILL ringing after two hours. I stayed in bed and cryed some more and DH woke up and wanted to take me to the hospital. We almost did not make it because of the snow.

I am never going to the ER again. The doctors do not give a crap at all. I told them for the past two weeks I cannot hear in my right ear at all its totally deaf and whats going on with my left ear. Wanna know what he said? You have a little ear infection. REALLY? A little one??? I told him I know I have an ear infection. DUH. He gave me a prescription for ear drops. I told him I had past issues with ear problems and ear drops makes it worse because the drop makes it worse and I had to get tubes in my ears 2 times because of the stupid drops. He still told me to use them. Well, sorry but I am not.

So a waste of money, I am still in pain.

Have you ever tried a soft touch chiropractor? There is a little bone that gets out that keeps the fluid from draining properly. If the fluid doesn't drain properly, it can become infected. The chiro will work around that area to get the bone in place. I've had one actually hand me a tissue then all that stuff just drained out of my ear. It felt so good. When the kids get ear aches they ask to go to our chiro. One day I asked them why. They said "because he fixes us immediately and doesn't make us wait 3 days to come in".

Bless your heart. If it is an infection, why can't they give you an antibiotic pill? There are some over the counter ear medicines like Simalison (sp?). Maybe call the pharmiscist and ask.....

I had a similiar problem that spread to my neck. I couldn't even turn my neck it hurt so bad. I went to the doctor and he said I had a slight infection and gave me some drops. Which did pretty much nothing. For the pain I used tylenol.

long story short, he was wrong. I went to a specialist who said I had a bad fungal infection (probably from a hot tub) and gave me some different drops. I used them and it helped a little. I went back to him a total of 3 times at $250 a pop. I found another specialist and went to him. He diagnosed the same problem but blew a powder in my ear. The relief was almost instant.

I had a several fungal infection in the tubes in my ear. I lost the hearing in my left ear for about 6 months. when It did come back there was a constant ringing for weeks longer. That ear now produces amazing amounts of ear wax and I still don't have my hearing back 100%. The problem started about mid 97 and I found the last doctor around the end of 98.

Trust me if the problem persists spend the money and go to a good ear, nose and throat specialist.

Yeah I am gonna have to go see an ENT doc and I plan on spending good money on one because I have been deaf in my right ear for a while now, and its scary. How are your ears now?

My left ear is STILL ringing.

there are some tones that my left ear still dosen't pick up. Also, I have noticed that if I cover my right ear the tv is quiter than if I cover my left one.

The one I finally went to was over the entire department at the local large Hospital. The insurance caught most of the bill, I had to pay a $50 co-pay though. He charged the insurance company $500 for my visit which lasted all of 20 minutes.

The pain is gone and thats the main thing, I wish I hadn't kept going back to the other doctor's though.

My ringing lasted for weeks and weeks.

i had a double ear infection and sinus last week. got so bad in the evening ( i had an appt scheduled next day) i just went to minute clinic at cvs. i was diagnosed and only given amoxicillin. still not better. went to doc today, had sinus xray...there is fluid and pus in the sinus area and my rt is not fully cleared up. i am now on medrol (SP?) (the cortisone pack where you take some every day and decrease it) i have to call the office and tell them the amoxicillin dosage and then they will change it to another antibiotic....crazy!

i did find that saline nose drops help a bit...they lessen the thickness of the drainage (gross, i know!)

i found that excedrin worked better for the ear pain than advil and motrin.

mucinex helps also. robitusson at night helps too.

    feel better

Wow I've never had it that bad before. When I suspected something was starting in my ears, I usually hold a blow dryer to it on low...warm soothing air dried out the water in my ear. (across my ear, not into it) Then I followed it up with Polysporin's eye & ear drops. But I know when my ears get funky b/c its usually after swimming and I swim often enough.

I hope yo get better soon Ash *hugs*

I'm not in any medical profession, but an old home remedy for an ear ache (not infection) is to put a few drops of olive oil or sweet oil in the hurting ear and then put a cotton ball in it. I used this on my son who had some bad ear aches and he said it quit hurting immediately. I don't know if it was the oil or the fact that the cotton kept the ear warm and free from drafts.......I hope you feel bette soon.

I think I am going to stab my eyeballs out. This is the most obnoxious noise I have ever heard. Its like a fire alarm going off that I can't turn off. I am going to go NUTS.

Look up activator on google and the first listing should be the one where you find chiropractic drs in your area that use one of the soft methods.
