Which Treadmill?
I'm thinking about buying a treadmill. If you own one, would you buy the same one or a different one and why?
Thank you.Lisa

I would suggest a few things first before buying any exercise equipment...
Look for used first. (craigslist, ebay) A lot of people buy new with every intention of exercising but more often than not it becomes an expensive place to hang your clothes.
Read reviews. There are a ton of sites out there that review the equipment. http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/e...eequipment.htm
Have a goal/what is it?. Is it to lose weight, just be healthy, or training for an event? This will play into your decision.
How much do you want to pay?? Have your budget in mind before you go shopping.Last edited by Russ; 02-15-2010 at 03:24 PM.

BTW... Icon brands make many of the name brand treadmills. We have a Proform and it has served us well.

I bought a used manual treadmill at the Goodwill about 10yrs ago.Paid all of $10 for it because there was a 50% off sale. Does all the basic things I need WHEN I go downstairs and use it. So I agree with rcannon------buy used first. I'm not sure on the brand name on mine.Have to look when I use it again. LOL

I also have a used manual treadmill that I got free through Freecycle. Very basic and it sits and a slight incline. 10 minutes on that thing and I'm sweating buckets. My only negative comment about is that you can't really run on it. It just doesn't move smoothly enough for that. I am thinking about buying an electric treadmill for that reason.

My first one I bought was a basic Proform. That was good for speed walking but not running.
Later I bought a Nordictrack and it's been my baby and yes I would purchase another one again. I got it on sale with all the bells and whistles because I turned into a runner. (well you wouldn't know that by looking at me now.
) I wanted the automatic incline and the extras that I use.
It's been though a few moves and moved around the house and taking a serious beating, but to me it was worth the dollars. I payed 800.00 for it.
You just need to figure out what your true goals are and then it's easier to pick one.
There are three things I can't part with in life. A computer, tv, and a good treadmill.

We have an inexpensive ($200 range) one we purchased at Walmart about 4 years ago. It has done everything we have expected it to do and more.
