Just got home from the ER.
So I was in the shower this morning before work and washing my face. My face wash is call Apricot scrub. Its got expholiates in it to really scrub well. Well, I got some in my eyes. Would you believe it?! Anyway it hurt so bad. DH and I were trying for an hour to rinse them out but they would not come out. Went to the ER. I have a corneal abrasion straight across my whole eye (which is like a cut). Had to call out of work today because I cannot see.
GRR!!! Just my luck!!

Ouch!! Sorry to hear you did that. The only consolations is that eyes do heal very quickly. I know how you feel. Enjoy your day off.

Oh OW. I HATE that. I had my cornea scratched as a kid.
Hope you feel better soon!If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I had my cornea scratched by a dog when I was a kid. Lesson Learned: Never attempt to play with a huntin' dog while they are eating or you will wear an eye patch!

That sounds like that would really hurt. I hope you're not in much pain. I cringe at the thought of anything in or touching my eyes.
When will you be able to go back to work?Donna

Ouch ouch ouch!!!
The nice thing is the eye heals very quickly! Two of my four kids have scratched their corneas (one as a baby w/ her fingernails, and one due to a toy). Be sure to wear sunglasses for a few days. Your eye will be sensitive to light.

Wow sorry that happened to you. I gave up on that stuff eons ago (any scrubs) b/c I'm afraid of something just like what happened to you happening to me. I hope it heals quick so you can get back up and at things.
I used to use a walnut shell scrub (today's version is now known as apricot scrub) and well a piece of the scrub gently worked its way UNDER my skin and decided to call that spot home and invited some bacteria friends.
To this day, I shy away from using facial scrubs - I was told that gentle use of a face cloth achieves the same effect. But then the derm also told me that we do not need to scrub our faces...maybe once a month max. Scrubbing stimulates the oil glands to produce more oil and here we are, washing more trying to reduce the oil. Break the cycle and deal with shiny skin for a few days and get your skin to calm down.
PS: Why are you on the comp? Shouldn't you be resting your eye? LOL2012: The Year Of The Purge!

Ugh it hurts so bad still! I have to put eye drops in my eyes ever two hours. Well my cat decided to knock them off the table and hide them somewhere. DH and I were looking for an hour for them. They were in my shoe. Grr. They did not give me a eye patch and I don't have sunglasses.
I have work @ 8am to instead of 11:30am which kinda sucks because I was hoping to rest more because it hurts to close my eyes as weird as that sounds.
Thanks for all the get wells!

I woke up one morning years ago and couldn't open my eye. Went to the eye doctor and she said I had an "eye allergy" or conjunctivitis which is a mild form of pink eye. I had to use drops every 4 hours for about 6 days. It sucked so I know your pain.
