    Default Dental cleaning costs

Went to get my teeth cleaned this week and was wondering how much it costs in and outside of the US for others. I think my dentist is a little high but I really like the way they run their practice and treat my family so I keep doing business with them.

Adult cleaning from hygienist is $90 and Oral evaluation with the dentist is $45.
How about you? Oh while I'm at it, how often do you get cleanings? I used to go 2x a year but now go 1x a year. :biggrin2:

We go every 9 months because that's what our insurance will cover. Our dentist is $27 for the exam and the cost of the cleaning depends on how long it takes as you pay by the unit of time, $35 per unit for polishing and $50 per unit for scaling.

I find our dental office really overpriced, our old one was about 1/3 less for everything. We just go there because it's close, and we had no one to recommend a better one when we moved here.

The late bill for an adult clean and check was 66.89 but insurance paid half so I guess the total would have been 133.78 + what ever the write off they took because of the insurance contract.

Kids go twice a year (every six months). See the dentist once I think.
I go every 4 month see the dentist every other time I think.
Hubby doesn't seem to go for maintenance stuff. I'm not sure why.

Wow that is a lot when you add it up even after insurance.

Our cleanings are covered 100% by DH's employer benefits, so I'm not sure of the cost.

I know it costs the kids about $100 each trip and they go every 6 months.

We go twice a year as that is what our insurance allows.

    Exam is $39.00 and cleaning is $70.00 = $109.00

This is covered 100% by our insurance so we do it. We all have been blessed with healthy teeth, so we have not had an issue with braces, crowns, root canals etc.....

DH, DD, DS and I go every 6 months. Our dental insurance pays 100%.

According to my insurance statement cleanings are $142. When they take the yearly x-rays the charge is $207. We always are seen by the dentist after the hygienist cleans our teeth at each and every visit.

If you have a dental college in your area, you might want to check it out for lower cost dental services. I used to work at a university that had a dental school, and a lot of folks used their services. Faculty examine all the work done by students. It tends to take longer to get routine things looked at, but if your problem is complex, you tend to be seen more quickly, since the advanced students need the experience.
